Ratings & Reviews for Trex Transcend 12-in Island Mist Composite Deck Board (Sample)
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the realistic wood-grain appearance and Island Mist gray tone, noting it enhances outdoor spaces and exceeds expectations for low-maintenance decking. Many emphasize durability and solid construction, with reviewers reporting years of use without fading or structural issues. The hidden fastener system and grooved edges enable clean, professional installations, and the sample size helps customers make confident decisions. The 95% recycled materials appeal to environmentally conscious buyers. A few report isolated warping or surface concerns, and some note the surface becomes hot in direct sunlight, though these issues are generally outweighed by overall satisfaction.

We made the right choice
Would RecommendI love the color of this and the look of wood grain it has. We paired it with Spiced Rum Trex picture framing around our deck and fascia. The boards are easy to clean off and are comfortable to walk on barefoot. We've gotten compliments from everyone who has seen our deck, whether in person or in photos.

Horrible purchase, still waiting on replacements
Would Not RecommendAbsolutely horrible experience. I ordered the boards and Lowe’s rescheduled my delivery 3 separate times. I had to reschedule my work and take a day off. When they did finally deliver, they dropped the pieces on the driveway and caused damage. Additionally one of the boards had bubbles on the service and was defective. Store gave me a discount and placed an order for a replacement board. Still do not have a date of delivery. Lowe’s is delaying me finishing the deck with no date in sight. Absolut...

Would RecommendThe product as far as looks, and overall quality are fine the issue that I have now and have had it twice is the width of the deck board itself. Out of ordering 30 boards and sending them back twice because the width that is specified on all of the literature is 5 1/2" and you set your deck up for that width to match the other side of a picture frame for spacing and receive deck board that are 5 3/8" wide your spacing is all thrown off. See pictures. I have even talked to Trex with their NW sale...
