Ratings & Reviews for TREX Transcend 1-in x 6-in x 20-ft Island Mist Composite Deck Board

More cons than pro.

As beautiful as this product is in the beginning, it's not worth it in the end. If you are worried about scratches and stains, yes, this product will indeed scratch and stain. Yes, there is maintenance required on this product to keep it looking nice but once you scratch it or it gets stained, you are stuck with it unless you replace it. Not a simple case of going back over it with stain or using a wood filler or something of that nature. If you have used the hidden fastener system, be prepared ...

Beautiful, Strong, and Long Lasting!

Built my back deck with the entire Trex Transcend Composite Deck Boards! It looks beautiful and the best part is the hidden hardware. There are no nail/screw holes showing because the hardware fits within the grooves! I can also put full faith in the longevity of the deck because I know the composite material wont rot! Would buy again and I recommend it to anyone else who wants a high quality deck!

Looks Great easy to work with.

Doing a couple small porches onto our patio with this and it looks so neat.

But nobody said.......

Probably the best deck boards available on the market. I refurbished an existing upper deck and built another directly beneath, both about 12'x24'. Both decks have two "double picture frame" layout (didn't want any butt joints). My upper deck has been down for about three years with no fading or failure issues. Overall very pleased with outcome but..... What nobody told me: *12ft boards are 5.5" wide and 12'1.5" long. That length info would have been beneficial had I known in advance. *All...

Great Product

I have a 1200 square foot deck that I am redoing in sections with the Trex Trancend Island Mist. Similar to other composite products I have to work with the temperature and direct sun light have an impact on the length and even the width. Once you know this you work around it and it works. Very happy with final look of this product. Our front porch is the same material and it is holding up perfectly.

Better than wood

I never really knew Trex was not rigid like wood so it was a bit interesting getting it home on the roof of my SUV but it is well worth it.

Havana Gold Trex

It’s everything we wanted and more.

Trex Transcend

Looks great. Don’t know why I waited so long to try this. For a do it your self guy, I was a little nervous about trying Trex. It was worth the money.

Great Product

Used this for small decking purposes. Easy to work with.

Tree grooved composite in color “Spiced Rum”

Beautiful and tough with the Grooved sides enables use of hidden screw fasteners. The good stuff!

Trex decking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I've been looking for decking material and this transcend island mist deck material look. It seemed very easy to clean after I put juice and pop on.it. I tried stabbing it with a knife and dropping a brick on it. No damage. I'm definitely going to use this material for my deck this summer.

Nice Color!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a sample of Trex Transcend in color Island Mist. I think this color will be nice in many exteriors. I like the product & think it will last a long time versus wood that needs a lot of upkeep.

Nice sample size

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Color of the deck board sample is very true to picture and description. It is an ample size to assess the weight, quality and projected durability of the deck board.

Using on our next project!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've placed an order for Trex for our next construction project. The deck is on the 2nd story of a new home we are building. Really looking forward to the low/no maintenance of this product!

Heavy Duty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a sample of the Mist deck board. I have to say before I could even open the box it was soaked by rain and snow, which was awesome b/c it showed me it could weather the elements! The color is amazing and how sturdy it is also is great. It has a 25 year limited warranty on fading and staining and I love the fact its 95% recycled material.

SOLID AS A ROCK

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The color and texture look very much like wood. It's a very pretty product. I would imagine it will wear quite well. It does scratch (like wood), but the scratch doesn't have much of an impact on its appearance because it's the same color all the way through. The one possible negative is its weight -- very heavy. Which will not be a big deal for new construction, but having the proper support for an entire deck of this product would be somethin...

Amazing Product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] On my adventure of trying to find the perfect material that I would like to have a deck made out of, I came across Trex decking Transcend Island Mist. I was impressed by how heavy it was. That it was made out of recycled materials. Living in Maine the winters can be harsh, so I took my deck board sample and placed it outside with snow, and ice. I was impressed that I could scrape solid ice off of it and not see any real deep scratches.. I ...
