Love Trex

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Trex - Transcend 1 ft Sample - Island Mist it is a beautiful mix of grays. Being from a construction family who built decks using only Trex and have trex on our own deck i know the beauty and durability of this product. Trex boards out weigh traditional wood deck boards hands down.

Excellent Deck Sample!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an excellent deck sample and I sincerely love the aesthetic texture of it. It's only a 1 feet sample item but the product can be used in a variety of ways. I'm currently using it as a small shelf space item on my wall. It can hold small books and other treasured items. It is not large enough or sturdy enough to hold televisions or full-size stereo systems but it can hold small computer speakers. The nature of this material is faux wood....

More cons than pro.

As beautiful as this product is in the beginning, it's not worth it in the end. If you are worried about scratches and stains, yes, this product will indeed scratch and stain. Yes, there is maintenance required on this product to keep it looking nice but once you scratch it or it gets stained, you are stuck with it unless you replace it. Not a simple case of going back over it with stain or using a wood filler or something of that nature. If you have used the hidden fastener system, be prepared ...

Beautiful, Strong, and Long Lasting!

Built my back deck with the entire Trex Transcend Composite Deck Boards! It looks beautiful and the best part is the hidden hardware. There are no nail/screw holes showing because the hardware fits within the grooves! I can also put full faith in the longevity of the deck because I know the composite material wont rot! Would buy again and I recommend it to anyone else who wants a high quality deck!

Looks Great easy to work with.

Doing a couple small porches onto our patio with this and it looks so neat.

But nobody said.......

Probably the best deck boards available on the market. I refurbished an existing upper deck and built another directly beneath, both about 12'x24'. Both decks have two "double picture frame" layout (didn't want any butt joints). My upper deck has been down for about three years with no fading or failure issues. Overall very pleased with outcome but..... What nobody told me: *12ft boards are 5.5" wide and 12'1.5" long. That length info would have been beneficial had I known in advance. *All...

Great Product

I have a 1200 square foot deck that I am redoing in sections with the Trex Trancend Island Mist. Similar to other composite products I have to work with the temperature and direct sun light have an impact on the length and even the width. Once you know this you work around it and it works. Very happy with final look of this product. Our front porch is the same material and it is holding up perfectly.

Better than wood

I never really knew Trex was not rigid like wood so it was a bit interesting getting it home on the roof of my SUV but it is well worth it.
