Ratings & Reviews for TREX Transcend 1-in x 6-in x 16-ft Spiced Rum Solid Composite Deck Board

Beautiful color!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This board has a beautiful color and is a perfect match for my deck, the material seems to be very strong and durable and it does look like wood. It is a great alternative to use instead of wood for a long lasting deck

no more deck maintenance!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Trex is the way to go! After battling my wonderful natural wood decks for the past 10 years, I give up. Trex has so many more color choices now and they look so much richer once installed, I have to say...NO MORE WOOD! And from a distance, they look as natural as the real thing...but it is a man made product, so it's always going to declare itself as such! The trade off is worth it! My decks are beautiful!

1ft. Spiced rum

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the color of this product and the texture we are planning on building a new deck next spring and we were not sure what kind of material to use but after seeing how durable your materials are we have made a decision to use your product.

Very sturdy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off I was very surprised how sturdy this product was. It was heavier than I expected, but I feel like it will be able to withstand the elements. The color is a nice rich dark brown with no major color gradient changes. I like the texture that makes it more authentic looking. This color and texture is easy to clean, the grooves are too deep and it's dark enough to hide most dirt and mud.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I received this sample I was surprised at how thick and heavy this is. The color is gorgeous and the quality is amazing. Now I want to redo my entire back deck using this product.

Beautiful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Trex Transend is a beautiful deck material. I was surprised at the weight and heft of the sample. Our sample of Spiced Rum is a rich brown color with some darker tones and woodgrain that give a very natural look. This stuff is solid! I can see why it won't fade, stain, or scratch. No maintenance, just hose it off. I'm afraid it will outlast my house. Being 95% recycled materials is great for the environment too.

Awesome!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a super thick and durable piece of decking board! It feels like it would be a very sturdy plastic and looks like it wouldn’t be easy to rot! The color was very nice also! I would tottally recommend to someone building any kind of deck!

Awesome!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm happy with this sample. It gave us a real chance to see color, feel the texture and allow us to make a decision.

Great Look

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has rich dark tones and colors and the markings in it are just awesome and gives it a older look but with new look combined rustic maybe but you will be pleased with coloors and undertone colors I love it

Beautiful Finish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you're going for that "classic" look for your deck or patio this is the finish you're looking for. And not only does it look great for your yard, but it also repels those pesky elements like rain and mud.

More cons than pro.

As beautiful as this product is in the beginning, it's not worth it in the end. If you are worried about scratches and stains, yes, this product will indeed scratch and stain. Yes, there is maintenance required on this product to keep it looking nice but once you scratch it or it gets stained, you are stuck with it unless you replace it. Not a simple case of going back over it with stain or using a wood filler or something of that nature. If you have used the hidden fastener system, be prepared ...

Tree grooved composite in color “Spiced Rum”

Beautiful and tough with the Grooved sides enables use of hidden screw fasteners. The good stuff!

Spiced Rum Deck - Rich Color

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great way to spice up your deck is with this product that allows for workable space or a space to entertain or relax. The feel of the product is not too rough but not smooth either. Although this product does not match up with the exterior of my bricks at the rear of our home, I would still recommend this product to others. Deep crevice is very noticeable and the thickness is more than I imagined. If you look at the side view you can feel how...

Feels Tough

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After looking at, walking on, and spilling liquids on this deck board sample I would definitely consider it if I was in the market for new decking for our home. The thing I like the most is that the board itself is covered with a plastic-like cover, making it weatherproof. It also means no more cleaning and painting every year. It does resemble a real-life board but you can tell it is not. It appears to be made of a thick press board that i...

Excellent sample size

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Color of the board sample is very true to picture and description. It is an adequate size to assess the weight, quality and projected durability of the deck board.

Spiced Rum is a must!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this sample of Transcend Spiced Rum deck board and instantly fell in the love with the color. Its a rich tone and would look good for any deck! I was amazed at how solid it is and that it comes with a warranty against fading. No worries of splinters and environmentally safe b/c its 95% recycled material.

Heavy Duty!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the color and texture of the product. It looks and feels like wood. I scratched it with the scissors and it does scratch but the color is the same all the way through, so no big deal. It sheds water very well. Would love to replace the treated wood on my front porch with this. But one thing I would need to consider is the very heavy weight of the product and whether the existing joists under my porch would support it adequately.

Great Deck Board!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got a sample of Trex - Transcend Spiced Rum Deck Board in the mail and i'm really happy i did...It's a really nice and strong Deck Board...we jumped on it...rubbed it into the ground to check wear and tear...rubbed mud on it and washed it off...it took a beating and held up beautifully...i do have to redo my deck and this is perfect...the color might not be my choice but the Board itself is perfect!!!
