Ratings & Reviews for TREX Transcend 1-in x 6-in x 20-ft Dark Square Composite Deck Board
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the composite decking for exceptional durability, realistic wood-like appearance, and low-maintenance benefits. Reviewers consistently describe the boards as solid, heavy, and exceptionally durable, withstanding heavy foot traffic, pet activity, and harsh weather without warping or splintering. Many commend the natural wood grain texture, rich color tones, and fade-resistant finish that eliminate annual cleaning and painting. The weatherproof surface and scratch resistance reinforce long-term value perceptions. A few customers note minor color inconsistencies between samples and installed boards or occasional warping upon arrival, though these concerns are isolated and rarely outweigh overall satisfaction.

Built my back deck with the entire Trex Transcend Composite Deck Boards! It looks beautiful and the best part is the hidden hardware. There are no nail/screw holes showing because the hardware fits within the grooves! I can also put full faith in the longevity of the deck because I know the composite material wont rot! Would buy again and I recommend it to anyone else who wants a high quality deck!

Would RecommendUsed for porch step treads and the Trex is the thing for this application. Winter will give a greater perspective but, I am not worried that these boards will be less than I anticipate.

Feels Tough, Dark Color
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After looking at, walking on, and spilling liquids on this deck board sample I would definitely consider it if I was in the market for new decking for our home. The thing I like the most is that the board itself is covered with a plastic-like cover, making it weatherproof. It also means no more cleaning and painting every year. It does resemble a real-life board but you can tell it is not. It appears to be made of a thick press board that is co...

Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent a piece of deck board. This color is a dark brown. It is very heavy. Very good quality. We have a yellow home. It looks nice. They advertise fade and stain resistance for 25 years. This is a high performance composite. It will make a beautiful deck!

Another Durable Product
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a very durable board. It doesn't scratch easily, nor splinter easily either. It's a very dense quality. Appears to have a good UV coating. Very heavy weight per foot. I believe that you'd have to have a very sturdy frame to accommodate this material.

A Smart Choice
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Trex transcend deck boards are beautiful, tough, and good for the environment. They are 95 percent recycled products, and have a 25-year warranty. Lava Rock is a gorgeous deep brown with darker color variations and a natural looking grain. This product is pricey, but well worth the investment.

Beautiful!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this sample to test. This product is awesome. I can only imagine how beautiful it would look on an entire deck. The product is very sturdy and would probably last for years. It is looks just like wood grain. It is heavyweight. The tongue and groove assembly will make it very easy to install. The lava rock color is a realistic dark espresso wood stain color. Definitely a great option for a maintenance-free deck!!
