Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
The Trex Select composite decking boards are generally well-received for their durability, low-maintenance, and appealing wood-like appearance. Customers appreciate the variety of color options, particularly Woodland Brown and Pebble Grey, which blend nicely with different home styles. The installation process is straightforward, with the Trex clip system helping achieve consistent spacing, though some isolated issues with warping or inconsistent board widths have been reported. While the higher cost compared to traditional wood decking is a downside, many customers feel the long-term benefits justify the investment.

Would RecommendBut, I guess you get what you pay for. Building a good size deck out of composite materials results in a beautiful long term solution to deck maintenance. But take the time to assemble an accurate material list and cost estimate. It is shockingly expensive. 4-5 times that of a treated lumber deck. At least. But the high end colors and the number can jump 40% over that.

Love the color and the feel
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sample was the first of this kind I had ever seen. The quality of the board is great. I would definitely use this to replace decking or to build a new deck. I even wet the the sample piece to see how water would do on it. The water beaded up and was easy clean up. The best part is not having to stain the deck every year.

No need to stain your deck
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What I love about this composite deck board is there is no need to sand and stain the deck. I have my Trex composite deck for over 8 years and it looks still brand new. Not once did I have to worry about the color of my deck fading or breaking. So, this new color pebble grey deck board sample makes me want to have a new deck due to the new grey grain look. The board is strong and very durable. I can totally vouch for this product.

Heavy and nice
Would Not Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this sample board, and of course, it's a little hard to review a sample deck board since I didn't install a full deck with this product. However... the board arrived in a flat package and the board had a sizable dent/nick on it. Which leads me to believe that if I dropped something heavy onto the deck, it would dent it. And unlike wood, i don't think you can sand or fix that with this composite material. That said... it's super heavy...
