A better rat trap!

Rats in the garden. Poison: not for me, because so many other critters feed on them. I definitely prefer the Tomcat to the older style spring traps. Easier to bait and clean, safer to set. Also, the rats can't nudge/jostle it into snapping out of the kill zone. However, because the trap is small and light, it was no problem for a red-tailed hawk to carry off the whole package. It only happened once so far- the cost of doing business I guess.

Catch rats — but lose bait cups

It didn't take long for the trap to catch a rat who was inside my house but I had a repeat of the same problem I've had at least three other times, and maybe four. The trap did not kill the rat and I could hear it dragging the trap around my kitchen, banging into things. When I finally got up to investigate, I discovered that only the rat's snout was caught, so I grabbed the rat by the tail, went out to my deck and set the trap down, then opened it — at which point, the rat ran out like a shot! ...

Would be an amazing trap if was stronger plastic

Unfortunately after the first few uses the plastic becomes weak and breaks 😞 only got about four catches before plastic gave out

Not Great

Trap was set off and clamped down on the rat's neck but didn't kill it. The rat dragged the trap around all night making a mess everywhere in our basement.

Wonderful product

These traps are remarkable in their efficiency. Every time one has been triggered it has caught the culprit, there have been zero instances of failure to catch. It almost makes me wish I had more vermin in my yard to eradicate as the results are so pleasing.

Effective proven tool to combat a rat issue.

I have used this product to take out rats for several years. I find them to be durable, effective, and well engineered. Recently helped me nab nine rats who were rampaging through a compost bin. I swear by this product.

Works great

What a bunch of silly comments. To expect every critter to be instantly trapped and killed is not realistic. Designing something that would do that would likely be dangerous to humans as well. I bought this for chipmunks. In two days it caught six as well as two shrews. All with only batting the trap once. The bigger the critter the less likely it is to kill them in my experience. I set the trap outside where I can easily see it and go finish the job if the trap doesnt kill it. I have even watch...

0 kill rate on larger rats, torture trap

This worked well on 2 smaller rats but the third one was bigger and like others have stated it did not kill the rat. It snapped down on its nose and it was still very much alive tossing around and squealing in a pain and panic it was traumatizing and inhumane. I took it outside away from the house and let it go.

Does not work well.

This trap really does not work very well in my experience. I’ve used it a few times. 1 rat it injured and just caught its tail and then the rat died underneath our house somewhere and is still smelling. Another rat It did kill but the cat dragged the trap a few feet before dying. Tonight it caught a rat by its leg and the rat was still alive. I dont know how long it was there… days maybe. but it’s pretty cruel. I ended up putting it out of its misery. I would not suggest this trap. It looks nice...

Horrible product for the price!!!!

I purchased 8 of these products; the rain triggered the trap and the black spring separated from the upper tooth plate so couldn’t use. Occurred with 3 of 8. Two others the plastic piece holding the spring snaps off.

It’s 1:00am and I have to hear the sound of the rat not dead in the trap. Thanks a lot for an inhumane product that absolutely doesn’t kill right away AND keeping me up all night. I WILL NOT buy again or tell anyone to buy. Do better!

Catches Rats

I bought the rat trap because the other brands were not working. Put a little peanut butter on and caught the biggest rat I’ve ever seen..

GARBAGE! SUPER BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Garbage! Full weight of rat eating from the bait cup doesn’t trigger the trap. What a joke. Been trying to upload a video, but the good folks at Tomcat keep evading my question as to how to upload my videos. Who keeps receipts for rat traps? Do you? I don’t. I’ll bet no one ever gets a refund. I don’t even want a refund, I just want a working trap.

I really haven't had a problem with the traps except that they don't last long if I mymake a suggestion you mite want to use a steel clamp so that at the price you are charging that you might be able to sell more than what you are known. Because after it snaps one good time, the clamp breaks and it is no longer any use. So I decided to let you know before going online to find how many other people are having the same problem.

Great Product!

My furnace guy noticed rat droppings in my partially dirt basement in Atlanta and he said I had better get rid of them or they would chew up the wiring in the furnace. Great success the first time I used them, they adore peanut butter. I have used them a few times since, always with great success. I keep the floor swept and when I see droppings, I set a trap! Yes Indeed - It Really Works!

Had a really BIG rat leaving his marked droppings trail all over our outdoor covered patio. Had some missing baby quail so suspecting the rat was snacking on them. Put this trap out at dusk in the place where I had seen him & where "his trail" was, and the next morning I went looking for him and thought he was sleeping behind the place where I had put the trap. He was indeed sleeping -permanently. Trap was VERY easy to set up - and to add peanut butter to - no fear of getting my fingers snapped ...

Broke on first arming

My store doesn't carry my old brand anymore. Decided to try this brand. Back trigger supports broke on first arming. Poor design flaw, will not be purchasing more.
