This is a nice box, but the lid needs improvement

I have purchased several Suncast storage boxes in the past and was very please with the previous purchases. However this deck box has some design flaws that resulted in my lower rating. The mounting screws provided for attaching the hinged lid are not adequate for the job intended. They are too short and pull out of the plastic when trying to attach the lid to the assembled box. I ended up using epoxy resin to help reinforce the holes for the mounting screws. I think Suncast should rethink how y...

What a poorly designed lid and hinge assembly

As all other reviewers have stated, super easy assembly of the sides, 10 minutes and done. Then comes the lid. It is a poor design, nothing fits as it should. The instructions are poorly written concerning the hinges, I've wasted an hour trying to get them aligned. Back to Lowes goes and I am not wasting another minute disassembling.

Pretty Disappointing

I didn't realize you had to spend a million dollars to get a quality deck box. I was glad this was made in the USA but my God was the quality bad. Screws that couldn't reach the area I was supposed to screw it in (or didn't want to stay screwed in), one of the bolts literally popped out of one of the holes it went through (I had to use a couple of my own washers to make it work), the spring bends awkwardly whenever it opens because of an odd angle it's installed, and just overall poor quality an...

Not good. Look elsewhere

Instructions are not very clear. The hinges don't fit well to the lid. The small screws are too tight to pass through the hinges. I had to enlarge holes slightly. This was an impulse buy. I wish I had read the reviews first. Not worth $129.

Its built well and It can hold a person sitting on

The plastic is heavy enough but the bolts and nuts are cheap soft Chineesium and strip out easily. I had to put my own bolts in it. The plastic panels just slide together nicely. the bottom panel is thick and is off the ground so if you get a heavy rain the inside should stay dry.

Believe the reviews re. assembly

The only reason we are giving 2 stars is because the box is exactly the hard-to-find size and color we were looking for. I read the reviews before purchasing but figured that my husband, who is very handy, could figure out how to put it together. Suncast is our Go To Company!

We only buy Suncast products as once they are assembled they last forever and they never leak. This box was the perfect size for additional storage on our deck. The base goes together in minutes but the top lid is tricky. This was the most challenging of our products. Definitely follow the directions to a T, the directions were a bit challenging but the end product is definitely worth it. As you can see in photos we now have 3 matching pieces, we love all 3 and love that they all match.

Cheaply built, not worth the cost

Expensive for what amounts to 6 molded plastic pieces and a bunch of cheap hardware. Looked at the box funny while we were assembling it and three of the screws for one of the hinges stripped out of the plastic essentially making the hinge worthless. The bolts provided for a few of the connections use phillips head instead of hex or allen so it's nearly impossible to get a good grip to screw into the nuts, which have nylon inserts making them hard to tighten. Small Patio Box

I did not assemble it so I cannot speak to that part of the product except that I watched and there were some issues along the way. The product is perfect for my planned usage. Delivery was timely.

Perfect Size

It’s the perfect size for my cushions and they don’t get wet. Not so easy putting it together the directions weren’t too clear.

This is cheap crap and price should be reduced

It was hell to put together the hardware did not fit plastic mold we had to cut mold.

Read Instructions

It is a good thing that I read the reviews. Nearly every review stated to read and follow instructions as written. I read as we worked. No problems or issues occurred. It took about 1 1/2 hours for two people to assemble. we love it; the very large size holds all 8 cushions and 4 pillows.

Square storage container

Deep, spacious, dry storage. We just put this out to keep our pool towels and toys in; so far its remained dry inside despite several hard and blustery storms. I have no doubt it'll handle the harshest of summer rumblers. Also a bonus that it is designed to withstand an adult sitting on it.

Nice but a real pain

After assembled, the box seems sturdy and is a decent size. I don't care to ever have to put another one together in my lifetime. I'm concerned about the durability of the hinges. It was VERY difficult to get the screws through the predrilled hinge holes. Hoping it holds up after the blood, sweat, tears it took to get the hinges attached.

Lots of storage in a small package

Lots of storage. Perfect for the spot on the deck I had in mind. The directions could have been a bit clearer and the hardware is a bit subpar. The screws strip easily.
