Would RecommendThe Smartpond pump is a strong and consistent pump that appears to be one that will last a long time. The other pumps I have used will not shut off if the water level goes to low or is eliminated but this pump has an automatic shutoff which will protect the pump from burning out. I have had situations occur in the past where my pump did burn out and caused me to buy an new one at a cost that I should not have had to deal with. This one is a saving grace on that front. Would RecommendThis pump replaced a burned out pump in my outdoor fountain. It's powerful but very quiet. It was pretty much a drop in for my old pump. Quality seems to be excellent. I hope to get many years of enjoyment with this pump.

Would Not RecommendThis pump has a safety device built into it where if the water gets low it shuts off. That's not the problem ,the problem is safety device is behind a side cover, my pump would not run completely submerged with the cover on. And also it want allow you to place the pump on its side for any reason. It just want run. But take the side cover off and stand it straight up and down and it pumps very well and us quite.

Would RecommendThis pump works great. It lifts the water to the top of my fountain with no problem. (5 feet ) . I wish the adjust on the side was more sensitive , But for the money i have no complains. Very good deal.

Doesn't work in low-temperature settings
I bought this unit to drain the cover of my pool, but it won't run in cold water. This is an UNDOCUMENTED feature that they don't tell you about. None of their pumps work below 46 degrees water.
