Would RecommendI used these plates on the back-side of a frame that holds privacy lattice around a crawlspace. The frame made of nominal 1" lumber with butt joints had previously been attached to the structure with dozens of screws and was coming apart anyway. With tie plates on the butt joints, two or three screws per section are enough to hold each 10' frame; removal for access will be much easier, too.
