Ratings & Reviews for simplehuman 45 Liter Brushed Steel Commercial Indoor Kitchen Step Trash Can

Keeps trash in - dogs out!

This trash can is the only one I’ve ever found that is dog-proof. I keep one in the kitchen for trash and one can filled with dog food.

Perfect Under-Counter!

I had been searching long and hard for a 45L step-open kitchen garbage can that could fit under the overhang of my island countertop. I cannot believe how perfect the 45L Butterfly Step Can is! For the first few days after we got it, my whole family just stood around stepping and admiring! It is VERY difficult to find a can whose lid does not bang loudly into the counter-top when opened. But now my search is over, and I will be eternally grateful to Simplehuman for making such a well-crafted, pe...

Good lookin' trash and or recycle container

I liked the first one I bought so much I bought another, and am considering a compost bin.

Great piece…very quiet closure…free bags

Great piece…very quiet closure…free bags were a nice surprise…they work great but I’m afraid they may be a little too expensive for garbage bags.

Best Trash Can Ever

I never thought I would spend this much on a trash can but it has been worth every penny. Our dog loves to get in the trash and we have tried multiple trash cans and none worked as well as we had hoped. This one keeps the dog out and looks great in our kitchen. I like that when I'm cooking I can open it without touching it with my hands. It stays much cleaner. Highly recommend!

Best Trash Can

I got this trash can because of a friend I often visit that has one. It's a great design and perfect for fitting in the space between my fridge and cabinet. I just moved into my second apartment and knew I had to have one. Trash cans don't get better than this!

Perfection

I keep my can under an overhang on my kitchen island, and a step can with a regular swing lid doesn’t have enough clearance to fully open under the countertop. The butterfly lid is the perfect solution, and I wouldn’t be satisfied without it. I have had this can for 15 years, at least! It was finally time to replace it, and I was so afraid it wouldn’t still be available - but it was! So happy to have the new, shiny, quiet can in place.

Perfect

Just the right size and the butterfly opens just low enough for under the end of my counter.

Very nice!

Smooth operation and easy to keep clean. We love it

Almost Perfect.....

Although the description says that you can use other bags/liners of the appropriate size, the standard 13 gal bags are just a wee bit smaller than SimpleHuman's own. I stretch them to fit because they are SO MUCH CHEAPER. Other than that, I'm pleased with the step can.

Truly dog proof!

Love this trash can so much!!! The dogs haven’t been into it at all. Definitely worth the money.

Another hit!

Also purchased this for my parents. We love our rose gold slim fit trash can that has a traditional opening feature. When we saw this one, we realized it would be a step up since it won’t keep hitting the wall when opening. Note that this model doesn’t have a storage space inside for extra trash bags which we purchased as did our other model.

Perfect Trash Can

This trash can is everything…no finger prints (smudge proof), large trash capacity and smooth foot panel…I love this trash can!
