Ratings & Reviews for simplehuman 40 Liter White Plastic Plastic Wheeled Indoor/Outdoor Kitchen Step Trash Can

Nice

I purchased two one for garbage and one for recycling on our deck. They look very nice and do not take up a lot of room.

I like it very much

I had my first simplehuman trash can and it last for 5 years. We really didn't treat it very good... poor trash can!! I liked it so much, that I just got an identical one to the first one.

Trash can

I like the slimness and lock option. It is a bit tricky locking it as you have to use both hands.

Great Quality Trash Can

Owned this about two weeks now for use in apartment kitchen. Great so far. Like the slim stylish design/looks, silent close lid and wheels. Tall kitchen trash bags fit great. Great price, quality and shipped quickly. Is not flimsy plastic like other models you would typically find in stores. Would definitely recommend.

Love our new trash can...one thing though...

I love our new slim step can. It fits perfectly into the space we have available for it, but being plastic, and with the wheels on the back, it is a little unstable until we get a few days of trash in it. Our solution was yo place a 1gallon sized zip lock baggy into the bottom under the trash can liner

Perfect trash can and customer service

The trash can is perfect and customer service is great here. Definitely will order another.

Nice quality. Its just a

Nice quality. Its just a little too slim for my liking

Love it!

This step can is perfect for what I was looking for. It is high quality, works excellently, and is a great value for the price. I actually ended up buying 3 of them - 1 for trash, 1 for plastic recycling, and 1 for glass recycling. I couldn't be happier. They fit a 13 gallon regular trash bag perfectly. I would highly recommend them.

Step Can

I wanted one with wheels so I could pull it. This works well but it needs a handle. That would make a big difference.

Wheels

I wish these smaller cans didn’t have wheels, or the option to lock them like the lids do, they move when you step on them to open if not right against a wall. Other than the wheels, I love them.

Boo Boo

You don’t know how fulfilling a trash can be until you have a good one and this one is excellent. Trash bags fit exactly right and everything works just like it’s supposed to. I’m purchasing another one for my Mom.

slim step can

I was looking for a trash can that was pet safe because my kitty likes to get into it. This was a perfect can. Slim and neat looking and pet protective. Thank you

Perfect fit

Worked out great. The slim line fit perfectly. Great quality and arrived quickly

Design Contradictions

We needed a locking trash can with a lid to keep one of our cats out of the trash. Any trash that held food, he’s in there. It would be great if the lock was integrated into the step opening. As it is one defeats the other. Some might have to use 2 hands to unlatch the lid. I am able to hold the can in place and push the latch with 1 hand. Harder to open than it needs to be since the latch is pretty flush, not much to grab onto. Either way you have to touch the can to open it. The purpose of the...

Almost perfect

I’m on my second one. Pros Opens every time, doesn’t slam shut Handles bags well Space saving design is convenient Has a lock I don’t use, but if you need it it’s there Con- Only one , the lock/latch would inadvertently get pushed in and if you didn’t see it latch, the garbage can wouldn’t open . This eventually caused the mechanism to break. Could use a redesign or some better indicator that it’s latched. Would buy again

Does the job

And it's good looking too! I'm quite happy with it.
