Mailbox looks nice and serves its purpose. However, the doors are not very well designed (the dowel pins are plastic and broke off); one of them broke during installation. The screws that were sent to attach the mailbox to the stand are too long and caused the mailbox to separate from the stand, causing the doors to fall out (suggest getting shorter screws or not putting them all the way in).

Good Quality Mailbox

This mailbox is great, It is easy to put together and is very study and well made. The only things I feel could be better, are the instructions and the way it is filled with sand. The instructions are all pictures and a bit confusing without a written explanation of the steps, Also, filling the base and pole are a bit tedious but they do provide you with a funnel to make it a bit easier. Overall, this is a good, quality mailbox that I am sure will last a very long time.

Easy to put together, used a screwdriver and a pliers. I could have used a screw gun for mounting the box. Put the doors on prior to installing the top.

Just dry the sand first

This was a good alternative to digging. My last mailbox was a typical post in the ground, which worked fine until the mounting stake rusted away. This fit together fairly well (a couple of holes didn't precisely line up, but that's typical and I was able to assemble it) and the hardware was good quality, none of the screws stripped. My sand was wet as many others have commented, so I spread it out on black plastic sheeting in the sun and it was dry in a few hours. Pouring slowly into the funnel ...
