Would RecommendWhile costly, I find Sharkbite products to be worthwhile for the ability to remove and re-seat them. I've had them in for over ten years in other parts of my home. Ball valve is DEFINITELY good to have. Carefully check that the length is correct. I had to go back for the 21" ones, because our new heater was taller than before.

Would Not RecommendLike the concept and followed all the steps - straight cuts, clean ends to remove any burrs, and tighten ever so carefully on water heater. It leaks on the cold intake nipple. I tried tightening more, took back off and rechecked nipple surface and gasket up in the shark bite. I reinstalled and it weeps every once in a while, not constant but not a great connection.
