What Customers Are Saying

The screen rolling tool has mixed reviews. Some users found it easy to use and helpful for installing window screens, especially for first-time users. However, many were dissatisfied with the poor quality and performance, including the roller being too wide, the blade being ineffective or damaging the screen, and the overall cheap, flimsy construction. Several customers recommended getting a higher-quality metal tool instead.

wheel too thick

Would Not Recommend

The roller wheel is too wide so it just barely pushed the spline into the groove. Had to finish with flathead screwdriver.

Poor Tool

Would Not Recommend

The roller only pushed the spline in halfway. Required pushing in spline with screwdriver to complete job. Blade didn't deploy or retract easily. Avoid this one and go buy a better screen tool.

The blade constantly pops out while using it no matter what I tried.

Not well made

Would Not Recommend

As soon as I tried to use it the metal piece on top fell off. Not made well at all. Buy the old style wood one for a few pennies more.

Much easier to use a 2-wheel type tool

Would Not Recommend

The knife side is fantastic, but the roller is only the concave profile. Only after a day filled with "colorful language" did I realize you NEED the 2-wheel tool. The 2-wheel tool also has the convex profile wheel which is critical to getting the screen bedded in the channel before rolling the spline in. IF YOU ARE NEW TO SCREENING, I would highly recommend that you ONLY get the 2-wheel type tool. Don't spend an agonizing day in frustration like I did ... unless you are crazy strong, it is ...

Don't waste money on this one, the blade lasted 5 min. and jammed so it would not close, and I had to lubricate the wheel for it to turn properly.

Cheap toy quality, not tool quality

Would Not Recommend

Within 5 minutes the blade fell out. It's held in by tiny plastic nubs & does not lock in. The "retractable blade" is more of a gimmick than feature.

Kept falling apart

Would Not Recommend

The knife blade fell out as I was trying to open it. I never was able to get it seated correctly so the blade went in the garbage before it ever made a single cut. The screws came out several times causing the whole unit to come apart. With duct tape Holding it together I was able to use it long enough to get the screens installed

Get the cheaper version

Would Not Recommend

This model fell apart multiple times while I was using it. Both screws and the razor blade dropped out of the device. Very unsafe.

Worst tool ever

Would Not Recommend

I bought it because it was the only thing they carried. It wouldn't push the spline into the track and actually cut through the aluminum screen. It really needs to have the convex side. Didn't even bother after fighting with it for an hour. Bought a good old fashioned metal one with the 2 sides somewhere else.

Roller to wide.

Would Not Recommend

The roller was to wide for the channel in my sliding patio door. Couldn't get the hang of using the knife. Used a utility knife. The standard roller worked better but I misplaced mine. Would not buy this tool again.

Blade kept coming out when rolling

Would Not Recommend

No matter what I did the cutoff blade would pop up. That is not safe. I returned it for the two roller tool. The two roller is actually better. One side is used to roll the screen in the groove and the other is to roll in the spline. A sharp utility knife finishes the job.

Not impressed

Would Not Recommend

Bought this and the cheaper version that has just dual sided rollers....the rollers definitely work better on the cheaper one. I only ended up using this one for the cutting device on the end which was not a necessity, as a pair of scissors does the trick.

Don’t Even try it

Would Not Recommend

The concept is great, But the execution is horrible. The blade kept pulling out, when cutting screen and even worse when cutting spine material. The wheel is not even wide enough to fit properly over the spline material. The tool flexes when been used which does not add confidence while been used. How this passed QC is beyond me.
