What Customers Are Saying

Customers are divided on this battery-powered spreader. Many praise its ease of use and convenience for small yards, appreciating the trigger operation and minimal effort required for light tasks like seeding and fertilizing. However, a substantial group reports significant frustration with mechanical failures, describing the motor as weak and the unit stopping after minimal use despite fresh batteries. Several note it jams with ice melt and granular materials, requiring constant manual intervention. Overall, while many find it suitable for small-scale work, reliability concerns and performance inconsistencies leave others deeply dissatisfied.

Easy,fast and fun!

I had a hand crank model for years but this battery operated Wizz is fantastic! The ease of use and precision spreading has made this chore kinda fun and so much less painful on my arthritic fingers.

Huge upgrade from hand crank

Would Recommend

This was I huge upgrade from my old hand crank spreader. Made over seeding a breeze! I only have 2300 sqft, but after aerating and spreading compost all day, this little upgrade was well worth it. I do wish it had a better hopper mechanism to draw seed down to the spinner, but a quick shake solves that.

Battery operated and easy

The spreader is easy to use and is lightweight. Great for spreading grass seed on a patchy lawn. It can also be used for spreading ice melt.

Spreads well - works better if the hopper is full

Would Recommend

I decided to try a motorized spreader because I hoped the fertilizer distribution would be more even since the motor speed would be constant in contrast to that of a manual hand-held spreader, which can be affected by the speed the crank is turned. In that regard I was happy with this spreader. The only real issue is that the insides of the hopper need to be steeper, so that the fertilizer flows evenly to the "exit hole" (not sure what else to call it). As it was, I had to occasionally push the ...
