It has a little extender to support your arm so you're not holding just the handle, but it wasn't really comfortable for me so I didn't use it.

Worked surprisingly well
Would RecommendWorked well for me in a small section of yard I had to rehab. It spread grass seed well and fertilizer granules with no problem. Easier than brining out the big spreader as this allows for more precise spreading. I bought in April but think it may be handy in spreading ice melt in the winter too.
