We purchased a few packages of this exact Rockwool insulation 5 years ago from another retailer. It’s great. It’s rigid enough to push between the attic rafters and stays put. We were so excited to see Lowe’s now carries it and we can easily order at a good price. We ordered 2 pallets. This is NOT the same at all. After struggling and having to add support straps to get it to stay in place, we contacted Rockwool. They located the batch number and confirmed that the “rigidity” of that batch was ...

Easy to install and seems to work so far

I bought a house that had no insulation in the attic. Living in Texas during this summer has not been fun. I was able to install it in part of the house this morning and it has already made a huge difference in that area of the house. Insulation is easy, it cuts easy with just about any type of cutting tool and it did not make me itch like the fiberglass does.

Product is great! Could have used a bit more help loading this onto my vehicle. Finally told Lowe's crew I would handle it myself after they loaded an 8 foot high pallet load of insulation onto my truck and weren't interested in helping me break it down for safer hauling. Precariously drove home and broke it down myself.

Falls out

One out of 4 bundles is undersized at 22.25" and falls out of ceilings.

Simple install

This product is easier to install than I thought. The material does make you cough without a mask but doesn't make you itch. We started off tearing pieces instead of cutting but that creates more dust so don't do that.

Much better than fiberglass or blow in insulation

For the same thickness as fiberglass it gives you more R-Value than fiberglass. The rockwool is much more dense and has a better insulating values and sound reduction. Installing the rockwool in wall or ceiling cavities is very easy when following the recommended compression guidelines. Delivered Wrong Item

We paid for and were supposed to get the Rockwool batts that fit between 24 in on center rafters. They delivered the batts that fit 16 in on center. When I tried to get them to come pick up the wrong ones and deliver the right ones, they said the 24 in batts were unavailable in R-23 and they didn't know when they would be available. We are now in insulation limbo. We need the delivered items removed but also need the items we paid for to put in.

Rockwool

The product is fantastic, easy to install, doesn't make you super itchy. My house is both warmer and QUIETER than I would ever have thought possible. My only issue is the Lowes calculator, it had me order way too much product. So keep that in mind when you order.

Incredible Insulation

We installed R23 Comfortbatt in exterior walls, R24 in our I-Joist floor platform, and R38 plus a layer of R15 in the attic of our new construction owner-built house. What a huge difference it made in thermal comfort of the house, even before the vapor control layer and drywall was in. Love the resistance to fire, water, mold, insects, etc. and our DIY install was easy!

Easy Installation and Very Quiet

I used the Rockwool R38 and R15 Comfortbatt in my garage build. I did a flash and bat method with 2" of spray foam and then the R15 Comfortbatt on the walls. Installation was easy and boy does it help knock the sound down. What a fantastic product!

Great for sound proofing as well as insulation

Very easy to work with. I used it for sound proofing and insulation in my music studio and again as acoustic treatment inside the room to reduce flutter echo and standing waves. It holds it shape very well and has a greatly reduce "itch factor" compared to fiberglass insulation.
