Unusable very disappointed

I purchased this and waited two weeks for it to arrive to insulate my shed. When it arrived I opened it up and as soon as I tried to pick it up it started to fall apart. It would not stay in place on the vaulted ceiling and would fall down and crumble up. I can not use it at all. My ceiling measured 22 1/2” and the insulation was 24”. I plan on returning it and purchasing another brand. Very disappointed and wish I could give it negative stars.

The only insulation I use

Love this stuff. It cuts like a nice loaf of Italian bread, installs easy, fills uniformly between studs/joists and doesn't scratch and itch like the pink stuff. Plus the combo R-value and sound absorption properties make it a no-brainer. Worth the higher cost in my mind.

Rockwool Rocks!

I love how this stuff cuts and holds its position and shape. I've put in plenty of glass fiber, and this stuff is so nice to use. My tool of choice is a large, smooth-edged kitchen knife because it just cuts like butter (though the wool will dull it after several bags so you'll need to sharpen your knife. It's easy to cut and splice it because it holds its shape well. In my included photos, I installed the Rockwool AFTER all the pipes and orange PEX lines were in place. It was really pretty easy...

GARBAGE

Don't try to put this crap overheard as it keeps falling down. Don't waste your money as it does not have a vapor barrier so you have to buy and install it too.

Terrible website- is ComftBatt product any better?

Read many positive reviews about RW ComfortBatt insulation; so went to a lumber yard and bought some to try on an exterior wall wood studs insulation project. Easy to work with. Holds up better.

No itchy aftermath to speak of. But best of all you get better insulating against San Joaquin valley heat and mountain cold from snow. We are west facing in the Sierras. 100 to 15 degrees. Excellent product!!!

Great product.

This is a far better product than what is available in stock at the stores. It definitely came a little beat up (many bags torn and some shredded insulation I had to use elsewhere) but I will order more for the rest of my project. I just wish they stocked it so I wouldn't have to buy a whole pallet all at once.

The best product!

I have replaced all of the old 1955 insulation in my home and i am working on the last room right now.I'm using R14 for 2 x 4 application inside my walls.I am so glad that i'm using Roxul as it has already shown to lower my heating bills and the accoustics changed right away.I don't hear much noise outside anymore.It is so easy to install and it's not itchy,i'm cutting the pieces with a bread knife.Thanks guys for a great product!

Great insulation for moist areas

Rebuilding a master bath I decided to gut it and start new. I needed an insulation that wouldn’t absorb moisture and gives a sound barrier. This is the perfect choice. This insulation is for exterior walls. They have a similar product that is only for interior walls giving no official R value. This one is R15. It goes in very easy unless your studs aren’t 24 on center then you have to close the spacing to make it work. They come in 4 ft lengths.

Much better than fiberglass. Easy to install. Wish the store kept it in stock.

Rockwool Comfort Batt

Aside from spray foam insulation, this is the best insulation. It's easy to cut using a serrated bread knife. There's no itchiness or fibreglass to breathe in or stir up.

Great for garages

Used to insulate my garage to turn it into a work shop. The batts were easy to handle, and fitting in between joists was a breeze. Use an old bread knife to do cut-outs for electrical boxes. The reduction in sounds is also very noticeable. I would say you should use long sleeves and a mask just to be safe, and while it's no where near as itchy as fiber glass, it can still be irritating to some people's skin.

Great for my Attic Renovation Project

I am in the process of making my attic into a bedroom and this was the first product that I looked at, and after doing my research on the products from other companies and chose this product for its value and for the quality of this product.

Use for specific applications.

Its a great product but use wisely if you're on a budget. If cost isn't a factor you could use this in every inch of a house as it out performs fiberglass. But for the average Joe the cost/benefit vs fiberglass means you should use this product based on the application and not as a default purchase. The R-value difference in Rockwool vs fiberglass is small (R13 v R15). It also has better water resistance and better acoustic properties.
