I finally got around to fire stopping my garage since I live above it, and I chose Rockwool to fill joist cavities and pipe and wire penetrations. Rockwool is not only fire resistant but also has the best sound deadening properties out of any insulation on the market, and that’s great when I have to leave for work and my wife is still sleeping I know the noise of the car will not wake her up!!! I did tons of research on mineral wool insulation and Rockwool is the original best product to pro...

Comfort Batt for the win...AGAIN
We have been using RockWool on our interior residential renovation products for quite some time. It is a no brainer for us and for us to utilize on our projects. Its resistance to mold, rot, mold, and mildew because it is made of spun stone that cannot absorb and hold water is amazing and a game changer. It also offers incredible sound reduction and fire resistance. It is fluffy, holds its shape in the wall cavity, easy to trim down, and is not itchy fiberglass. Love it and love everything ...

Superior to fiberglass in damp environments
Would RecommendBought this to insulate a plywood sheathed storage room/workshop. Self-supporting friction fit between studs. Easy to cut using an inexpensive bread knife. Doesn't absorb moisture like fiberglass. Good sound barrier as well.

Great stuff , holds up well , easy to cut , itching is at a minimum , great sound barrier and insulator. To bad you have to special order in this part of the country. Pink stuff rules here.

Easy To Work With.
Would RecommendEasy to open bag is a great plus. Easy to handle. I used laytex gloves if u are sensitive to insulation. Holds well on ceilings. 8 pieces per bag also is nice. And I love the red and blue colors of the wrapping, makes it even look like a quality product.

CUT WITH A MACHETE!
Would RecommendSo far so good, I chose this over spray foam and fiber glass cause of all the great talk about it. We first used scissors to cut the insulation then I had a great Idea why not use a machete it works great just make sure its not a dull machete!
Use This!
Would RecommendI'll never buy fiberglass insulation again. This stuff is so much nicer to work with than fiberglass and was so incredibly easy to put in-between my studs.
Love this stuff
Would RecommendIt's so easy to work with. It is not itchy so cutting and handling is a breeze. I was able to etch out the insulation to fit around AND behind electric boxes. If I ever build a home I would install thru out the entire house. We are currently doing updating and had to remove blown in insulation. in a small space. Ten 50-gal bags later we had the blown in removed (dust flies everywhere with the blown in kind, what a mess!) It's my go-to insulation.

Great insulation
Would RecommendIf you live where squirrels and chipmunks love to make buildings thier summer or winter homes, this is the insulation you need. Rodents tend to avoid this stuff instead of seeking it out like the typical pink insulation. This insulation needs to be cut for nonstandard spaces where a whole bat will not fit, but doing so isn't a big deal. Although this stuff is more expensive, it's definitely worth it.

Heavier, bulkier than Fiberglass. Easy to install.
Would RecommendPurchased this to insulate the ceiling for a new home-office with 2-ft wide rafters. The friction fit holds the batts up well, though I was concerned about that with the weight. Expensive when compared to fiberglass wool, but the advantages are it's water and fire proof, even though the R-value is the same. Suggest wearing a mask, eye protection and full-sleeve clothing with a cap and gloves. There is quite a bit of dust that can get into your hair, eyes and it itches.

Ease of use
Would RecommendThis is the best insulation. Very easy to cut and work with. Get an extra long knife and everything will be great.

easy up
Would RecommendI have installed 8 bags so far in the floor of my camp, product installs very easy. There were approx. 1-2 peices per bag that lacked rigidity to hold it in the bays, what I mean is each peice has a rigid side and a soft side these peices were both soft sides. Quality control should be payed more attention

Great for thin walls when cut
Would RecommendI used this during the remodel of a 1969 mobile home. The walls are 1x3 studs, so even regular insulation for 2x4 walls is too thick. I wanted maximum insulation and sound deadening. Since you can easily cut this with a bread knife, I bought a cake layer knife online. The cake knife is used by bakers to cut 24” wide sheet cakes into 2 layers to put frosting in between. It looks almost like a serrated 2 foot long sword. This allows me to cut the rockwool into 2 layers in one pass. I used...
Always use Rockwool
Would RecommendI have used this in every new build I have done. There are so many positives to using mineral wool to other insulation products. Rockwool brand is the best product on the market

Roxul Batt Insulation
Would RecommendI've installed WAY too much fiberglass batt in my life! Roxul is the BEST! High R-val (R-15 in a 2x4 wall). Easy to cut w/ bread knife; allows accurate cutting. Minimal masking required, minimal (if any) itch. Nice fit in standard frame cavities.
