Would Not RecommendI bought these in pine. My staircase is over 100 years old and needed a lot of fitting. I set the depth of my treads based on samples cut off two risers, and was well into the job when I took time to compare. These show variations in thickness and width, while I was taking uniformity as a given!
Sturdy
Would RecommendEasy to install, fits into our home really well and looks great

Works well for off-label use
Would RecommendI bought two these in lieu of a 1 x 8 x 4-ft plank for the sides of a book case project. It was significantly cheaper and straighter than the planks available. I also bought a red oak stair tread to use as the top of the book case. While they are glue-ups and not solid planks, they look great and saved me money.
