Would RecommendI'm looking to redo the baseboard in my entire house and I purchased one piece to see if it would take stain well since a previous reviewer said it did not. I sanded it by hand with 220, wiped it clean, and applied Rust-o-leum's interior wood stain. It looks great! I thought it came out nice and even and this is my first time staining anything, it was easy. Looks even better once I applied the polyurethane to it. Poor staining
Would Not RecommendI purchased this baseboard to replace previously damaged baseboard that had been stained with Minwax Early American stain. This new baseboard did not take the stain well at all, even with 3 stainings. Now this new baseboard does not match the other existing stained pine wood in the room.

Great when drilled for screw holes
Would RecommendWe bought this for a threshold after putting in a new kitchen floor. It works great WHEN you drill a hole for the screws to be used in holding it down. If you do not do this, the wood splits when you try to screw in a screw. We learned this the hard way!

Would Not RecommendThe pine baseboard moulding purchased this week is a cheap pine that does not stain well. The same type product bought 1 year ago did well. Saving money by providing inferior products looses money by losing customers. The carpenter working on this agrees. He is the expert. However, I have stained many things in my life. There is something wrong with this.
