Would Not RecommendGoing on my third one now because of the pre-drilled holes in the door and wall. They work for about a year to a year and a half and then the metal wears down and stops working and has to be replaced. Not going to patch and re-position so I guess that I am stuck with replacing these every couple of years. When it is working, it works great. I have bought longer screws for the installation so the door cannot be kicked in. I am going to oil this with the next installation to help prevent any frict...

Poorly Constructed - not suitable for protection
Would Not RecommendThis specific unit was installed at a condo we were staying at recently. Someone failed to unlatch the swing arm before attempting to open the door. When they did so the anchor component attached to the door itself snapped in half due to the stress. Were this made of quality materials that would have never happened. It is identified as a "Value Item" on the page but their is no value in it. Lowe's should drop this item so that folks don't buy it believing it will provide any level of protecti...
Safety feature
Would RecommendThis was a real safety feature for us. We bought a newly constructed home and only got 1 key for the front door. The key also fit the door to the crawl space. When a workman came and had to get in the crawl space, he forgot to return the key. I rushed to Lowe's to buy a backup lock, this Gatehouse one. It put us at ease overnight. Even though the workman returned the key the next morning, we had the house re-keyed.

Door won’t close flush
Would Not RecommendIt went on easy and looks good but it should come with a gasket, spacer or shim. My door won’t close all the way :( and the kicks back open. My husband just put some washers behind the part on the door ( you can see it on the lower screw in attached picture). It’s closing now.
