What Customers Are Saying
The veneer edge trimmer has mixed reviews. While some users found it efficient for trimming edge banding, the majority reported issues. The double-bevel blades made it difficult to get a clean, flush cut, and the blades could become dull quickly and were not easily replaceable. The tool was prone to catching on the wood grain, causing damage or uneven trimming. It required significant skill and care to operate effectively, and many users found it frustrating and ineffective, preferring to use a utility knife or box cutter instead.
Customer review summary generated by AI, including incentivized reviews.Much safer, easier & faster than using exacto
Would RecommendIt works as advertised. My only criticism is I do wish the included cutting blades had been a little sharper. But this tool is much safer, easier and faster than trying to use an exacto type knife to trim veneer edging.

Very helpful, but not "set and forget"
Would RecommendThis tool for its price is great, makes it easier to onramp into cleaning edge banding. I think though that I was a little too optimistic and didn't realize I'd still need to be very careful with it, that it's still capable of slicing beyond just the overhang and into the plywood itself or the banding that's non-overhang. There's also things like how humid the day is making the banding easier or less easy to trim and this tool ripping/tearing rather than cutting. Overall I'm happy it's easier to...

Meh
Did what it was supposed to. Sand paper works as well and less costly

Dull Blade
Would Not RecommendThe blade was quite dull

Easy to use, presents a clean edge.

Good enough.
Would RecommendNot as smooth as a utility knife, but creates a nice straight cut. Takes a little getting used to which can be expensive if you are using nice veneer.

pay extra for a tool that actually works
Would Not Recommendwould not recommend this tool. Because of its design wood shavings get wedged behind the blades and this causes the blade to get pushed out which puts cuts into the plywood.
Junk, sharp razor is better
Would Recommendthe angled blades make an absolute mess of the edge. with them retracted all the way, the edge isn't trimmed neatly. Very difficult to adjust all blades identically. Passable concept poorly executed.

Veneer Edge Blade
Would RecommendThe blade is easy to replace and it’s easy to use- I’ve used one with springs and the ease of use on this is significantly better

Worked as expected
Would Not RecommendI've installed melamine a few times and because they were straight edges I did not use a trim tool. This time I needed to attach the melamine edging to large curved edges approx. 20ft. I decided to try an edge trimmer this time because of the long curved edges. I went looking at various types of trimmers and read the reviews. I decided to go with this 90 degree Bi-Directional Cutting trimmer because this type had the better reviews. Although this trimmer received a lot of negative reviews, it m...

Dual-blade veneer edge trimmer
Would RecommendThe blades and especially the blade holder didn’t stay flat and caused a lot of extra work to get a “clean” cut. Believe a better, stiffer holder would make it retain a proper cut.

Easy to use, but cuts the edge of the product too
Would Not RecommendSuper easy to use, very convenient; but cuts not only the excess but also damages the side of the wood. Maybe is a user's fault! :)

Take your time and trim slowly in the beginning.
Would RecommendThis is a very simple gadget that is easy to use, but you must pay attention to the depth of cut and your hand positioning at all times to ensure the tool is riding square to the edge of the board. Can't go fast, as the blades have a tendency to accumulate the scrape cutting that pushes the blade out and can cause a deeper cut than desired, especially in to the board being edged. If the host board is a veneer, these deep cuts can cause undesired scarring on that veneer face. Tool has a two-dire...

It worked but was not great
I had used a cheaper product from an online retailer that worked much better. Unfortunately I misplaced it and purchased this one to finish a project. I regret losing the cheap one it was much better.
