Lots of features make a Versatile Screw

These screws are handy for cement board as they are designed. They work well to minimize crumbling. The torx bit is best way to limit head damage. The epoxy coating is durable. They start fast and drive in smooth for a good finish.

These screws are great. The color matches the decking perfectly. The only drawback is that they are hard to find.

Epoxy Coated Cement Board Screws

The screws appear to be well made and evenly coated with a protective coating. The box included the star drive bit for use to install the screws. The screws worked well when I used my drill/driver to install the screws. I did not experience any slippage of the bit when driving the screws into the board. I would buy these again.

Performs As Advertised

The smaller, secondary threads on this screw do seem to aid in the self-starting, whereas many self-tapping screws seem to rely on just a very sharp tip and the “notch” at the end. There’s not a lot you can say about a screw, really; it worked, and seemed to work quite well. My only criticism - which is mild, and not really directed at users so much as to the manufacturer - is that the Torx recess in the head could be a *little* deeper. Work Well

Sharp screw with good self tapping. Head sinks well so not sticking up. But fits pretty well and box comes with a bit. Overall seems to work well on floors and walls.

Job well done

These screws performed perfectly for the tests that I used them on. Easily screwed into the material with no splitting or cracks. I would be happy using them on future jobs.

Works well!

Starts easily and smooth threading. The torx heads do not strip out like phillips heads. Only problem i had was box hinge was broken so fell out in envelope and makes difficult to transport without spilling. Would definitely recomend the screws but need to improve the packaging.

Grabbed for other use and worked great

I picked these just based on the thread look not realizing the speciality of them. I used them for securing to wood to wood which is half of the actual use of these screws. I was amazed at how quickly they bit into the wood. I can tell by the swicth of the thread at the top of the screw that it will work great at securing cement board. Comes with the required torx bit as well.

Solid screws

Honestly, I use these as a general use screw for everything. they are self-taping and a good length for making little jigs for woodworking. I find the star pattern to be a lot more stable and holds the screw better than a phillips. I'm sure it works well for cement board too. The wide head is good for that. I always have box of these on hand for any little project.

Well built, very useful

I used these screws to screw the hard board down to subfloor in preparation of tiling my floor. They were very durable and they went in perfectly. They counter-sunk perfectly flush to the hard board. I would recommend these and use again for my tile projects.

The Screw was very efficient & works great.

I recently used these screws for some cement board in the basement. I really liked that they are ceramic coated to keep corrosion down they come with a longer 2 inch star style bit that fits snug and is a lot easier to handle then the little 1 inch bit that comes with most screws. All the screws fit clean with no burs hanging in the star hole. The screws drilled with ease and were very strong and solid that I didn't fear that I might break them. My new favorite screw

These cement board screws are my new favorite. I really like the star heads over the Phillips/square-headed screws I usually use. The star gives more grip than the square drive without slipping. Note that the bit that is included is actually a longer 2" bit not the small 1" long ones which is nice. In the past I have used my drywall screwgun to install cement board screws so the short bits are needed for that, but I already have plenty of the short ones. Good but don't like the heads

The product itself is a good product and a good size the send them in but I have not been a favorite of the star head. I am not sure why they are moving to that type but the rest I do like.

Good screws for cement board

These screws are great. I have been using Backer-on Screws for over 5 years but tried these Power Pro ones and you cant tell the difference. They start fast and counter sink the best. I havent used them on anything besides cement board, for this review.
