Good saw for money

Good chainsaw for the money. Pretty sweet for the price. If you know small engines and how they work this saw won’t be a problem. If you have problems hooking up your garden hose before in the past and your not mechanically inclined then the saw is not for you. Saw is good you just have to know how to operate it.

Absolute waste of money

I purchased this chainsaw to cut a few small trees. I got it out of the box and 5 minutes later the chain became very slack. I tightened the chain and within 2 minutes the chain jumped off of the bar. After reinstalling the chain the unit then refused to start. I gave up. Day 2, I tried to start and after 3-4 minutes it started. Then I cut a few more trees and the unit cut out, I tried to start it again and the pull cord to start the chainsaw came right out of the unit and now it was dead a...

poor quality, and poor customer service

The second time I went to use this the pull cord came right out- not having been properly secured. So in going through the warranty procedure I got sent to a local vendor who was very nice, and discovered that not only was the cord improperly installed, but the carburetor was defective as well. But... they had to get an OK for everything from the manufacturer, and convince Poulan to not only OK the repair, but to ship the bad part - which is now in its 2nd week of waiting. Out the box fine but there on nope.

The first use went well but from then on it was a pile of poop, the starter spring decided to break out and got caught up in the pull cord, spend more money and invest in something worth the while. You'll struggle to cut a medium tree brach with his, its ok for bushes and thats it.

Don't buy it!

I wish I had read these reviews before I bought this thing. Like others say, it cuts great - IF you can get it started and keep it running. Positively the worst chain saw I have ever owned. I decided to junk it today.

Needed a small adjustment...

We purchased this chainsaw without doing our homework. I was a bit concerned after seeing the reviews. My husband read up on it prior to use and found a video on YouTube that mentioned adjusting the spark plug. The first attempt with the saw resulted in it "falling flat on its face" as many of the reviews have mentioned. So he popped the cover, adjusted the plug as the video recommended and the saw works like a charm.

Works great when runs

Initially purchased April 2017 then exchanged July 2017. In October 2017, the crankshaft snapped right at the gear. Is now January 2017 and still waiting for it to be repaired by authorized service. Took about a month to get approval alone and last I new was waiting for part still. In order to finish up cutting some trees, ended up buying another one. Worked great until it didn't work at all

I purchased this product about two years ago when I needed to clear out some small trees and branches on my property. I pulled it out of the box, set it up using the directions and it was up and running within minutes, all was good. That year I cut through just about everything with no issues. Poulan Pro 42cc Warning!!

I bought this chainsaw 1 year ago from Lowes and used it for 1 tree in back yard, I ran it out of gas, oiled it up for storage. This year I had a tree in the wash that had fallen so I pulled out the Poulan and gassed it up, cleaned the plug and got fresh gas with oil and pulled and pulled with no start. Pure junk

I bought one of these last year after having a Poulan for 25 years that was a good saw. This one isn't. Can't keep it running. After pulling your arm off (now I know what Poulan stands for) and if you are lucky getting it to run; it will only stay running at a fast idle. No way to adjust the carb without a special tool and even when you buy that you can never get it completely set right. Getting it running on idle without the chain moving and then getting it set right so you can throttle it...

Good Little saw

Just took down a 40'+ deciduous tree from our back yard. the main trunk was easily 20" diameter. This saw performed very well and at this price point I don't see why the ratings aren't higher. No, I did not make one straight cut across the tree expecting the bar and chain of the saw to bare all the weight of the tree and keep sawing. Poulan Chain Saw

I bought this chain saw 2 times from Lowes and returned it 2 times. Don't waste your money. The chain pops off often when you are trying to cut small branches.

PIECE OF JUNK

Bought three of these in less than a month. !st didn't have pull cord inside after purchase....second lasted about thirty minutes before locking up! Ordered a third on-line for BLACK FRIDAY.....took it out of shipping container...installed chain oil...mixed 50-1 fuel 1 gal. ..less than an hour later....cool down for me and saw pull cord comes out while attempting to restart aptly following instructions{IN ENGLISH} pull cord comes out while cranking.....Trees,Lesss than 4 inches in diameter layi...

Utter Frustration

Very Difficult to start, will not idle, dies when it gets hot and won't restart until I let it cool off, bar requires frequent tightening, chain jumps off bar, plastic gas cap swells from fuel and I have to use pliers to get if off. There is more to tell, but I think you get the picture. I wasted my money. No recommendation from me!

Broke after 2nd use

Used product twice. Motor runs and revs but chain does not turn. Very disappointing.

Really?

In a year and a half I have gone through 3 poulan chainsaws. 2 blown motors and 1 bad clutch. Now lowes won't let me bring back one with a blown motor because it doesn't show up on my lowes card. Works good out of the box. But if you want a chainsaw for years, don't be drawn in by the low price. I don't recommend this brand and wish lowes wouldn't bring in poor quality tools for sale.

Not a good deal!

Right out of the box I had trouble starting it. I have to start it several times before it continues to run but once I make a cut and go to make another cut it stalls out and I have to restart all over. Leaks bar oil during and after operation. Plan to take it in for a service check.
