Just a blue light and nothing else

I have had this a week. Over that week we have been over-run by flies. I have swatted dozens using nothing more high-tech than a rolled up newspaper. The sticky traps have collected so many flies I can't count them. This pathetic little device has killed zero flies. All it seems to be is a very dim blue light or a dim white light depending on how often you flick the power switch on and off. Waste of time and money! It lights up the carport

I bought it because we have bugs that hang out in our carport. It lights it up, I haven't looked at the tray for bugs.

Faulty

One both light and bug zapper worked, the other ones light didn't but the bug zapper did.

Did Not Work for Me

Sad to report that I continue to get bit. The blue light inside the bulb is only about 1.5 inches long so not that noticeable. I tried this because it was the only indoor bug zapper. HD did not have any better options in their store either. I hope you have better results.

good but short lived

the bug zapping part stopped working after a day. the light stopped working after 3 days. disappointing. not recommended.

Good idea

The main light will come on randomly if the bug zapper is on and I’m not sure how effective it is. Concept is cool though.

Might work on large bugs but not on tiny ones.

Well, I don’t know if this thing works or not. It did not catch the pests I bought it to catch, but it might work on larger bugs. I bought it to catch fruit flies, but either they are not attracted to it, or the grid is too large for them, and they just pass through it. It has not caught one bug inside the house, but I might try putting it outside to see if it works any better on the carport.

Great Product

I was hesitant to buy after reading the reviews. I am certainly glad I did. This thing works like a charm with mosquitos and moths. Bought it mostly for mosquitos and it definitely reduced the amount I see. They used to hide in my carport for the shade but I put this up and I keep it on all day and night on the zapper only mode and it's solid. Glad I got it.

Works on phorid flies!

Quietly going about its job exterminating those miserable hump back flies in the Phoridae family that infest drains, composts, and damp house plants, all without chemicals; this device works. Put several out around the house where they are in direct sight of fly sources for best results. And clean the fixture every 2 weeks or so to keep the flies coming in!
