Would Recommendthe glue line is at the edge and this starter shingle allows you to nail closer to the edge get a better seal and protection from wind. stop turning regular shingles upside down and use this. each shingle is perforated and breaks into two. my hip roof is 2240 sq ft and only needed two bundles. plus your shingle warranty prefers this.
