Ratings & Reviews for Owens Corning Oakridge Estate Gray Algae Resistant Architectural Roof Shingles ( 32.8-sq ft per Bundle )

Did the job

Overall they are good shingles. However, I must have gotten a run where the ends were not cut square. I overcame it and won.

Very easy to install.

Tabs on architectural shingles make it easy to install.

*****Color is completly different than advertised

The Oakridge Estate Gray that I got has basically NO color variation, and seems to be one solid, very light gray color. I'm disappointed because my contractor has already started nailing them, and has moved all of the materials within reach before I noticed this. I looked at the pictures on MANY websites as well as people's personal pictures before choosing this color. I was attracted to it for the different shades of DARK and light grays, however that is not what I got. I really hope that it wi...

Not the same color as the display.

I ordered Estate Gray, which is supposed to have just a very slight green tint, but mostly gray. The shingles that I received were very green and did not match the sample that I had seen in the store.I had to pay the return shipping. I had to return those shingles because I did not want a green roof. I ordered GAF Estate Gray, matched perfectly.

Great quality, great looking and pro results easy.

Top quality shingles that went up very easy and looks fantastic. Was able to get professional looking results with a diy knowledge base. Overall very highly recommend.

Good product

First time buying architectural roof shingles. Seems fine installing them they do look good. Time will tell how they last.

i really liked these shingles but

I really like these shingles. They look great at good price. I had bought 5 bundles and then went to buy 3 more but the price at lowes went up 30% in four weeks. It turns out the price changed in virginia but not north carolina so since i was taking a trip there i got them in raleigh and save $25 on three bundles enough to pay for my gas. check around.

Excellent shingles!

Purchased these shingles for redoing a small shed and it was a great choice. Every shingle in the bundle was perfect and I love the way they look. Would definitely buy it again!

The only thing I would change

I believe the nailing pattern should be larger then it is. The 2 layers where nailing is done needs to be at least 2 inches overlap

Color is not true.

Specs on this corning shingle are great. I believe it will be a good investment. My problem is the appearance of the shingles. It looks nothing like the shingles advertised. My roof has a green color. There is very little color variation (from light to dark). It is more like a single color with maybe a lighter shade just rarely. I even had the roofer bring down a wrapper to be sure the correct shingles had been sent. I would recommend this shingle because of specs, not color. It is a new roof so...

Great for the price

Used these to shingle my Mom's new shed. They are great for the price. Would definitely recommend them so far. We will see if they hold up to 110 mph winds in the future.

Lifetime Warranty, WOW

These shingles are really thick and solid! A bit hard to cut with a box or razor knife so you must cut several times. They lay down flat and look so very nice. The color is darker tank pictured, a good bit darker. More of a bluer black than gray. The Lifetime warranty is amazing. However there are very specific instructions on how to put the shingles down. There is no reason to blame the shingles when they are not put down on a proper surface with the felt paper. The specific instructions shown...

New roof needed

I had been in need for new roofing for quite some time. My wife and I searched many places and settled on this particular Shingle. The style and color were spot on. The folks at Lowes were very helpful in estimating how many squares I would need, with the estimate I was 1 square over. The price was great, a few dollars more than one other store, but at Lowes they took time to explain answer any questions and all in all great experience.
