Ratings & Reviews for OPTIX 24-in x 48-in 7.12-sq ft Prism Ceiling Light Panels
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
The ceiling light panels have mixed reviews. Some positives include satisfactory installation and results for a few customers. However, many report significant quality and sizing issues. The panels are often 1-2 inches smaller than the advertised 24" x 48" dimensions, making them difficult to properly fit. The material is described as thin, brittle, and prone to cracking or shattering, even during installation. Overall, customers recommend carefully verifying the actual product dimensions before purchasing due to the common mismatch with the advertised size.

Would Not RecommendWe were looking to purchase 2 of the panels, however, when we checked each one they were all cracked or chipped. Every single one! So we ended up not getting any.

Not exactly 2x4
Would Not Recommendhad to replace a broken lens. this looks good, but it's thin and it's a little less than 2x4...so in the frame of the fixture, it is barely hanging in there. If there was a choice, I would have bought a thicker prismatic lens.

It does not fit or barely fits older lights.
Would Not RecommendThis stuff breaks way to easy. It is hard to put it in many of the older lights. IF the light has a fold down door or opening it may not fit. If you try and cut it yoiu get creacks and splinters. WHAt ever they used to use was much better , it yellowed after 20 years but could be cleaned up pretty good. This stuff gets brittle if it is in a high heat area.

Size is not 24 x 48
Would Not RecommendIf you read the specifications, you will see that the size is not actually 24 x 48 which is also stated in a lot of the reviews. Note to self - read the reviews. also very brittle had to return.

Mislabled and useless
Would Not RecommendThe item is labeled as 24 X 48 inches on the Lowes website, but the actual measurements are 22.2 X 46.5 inches. This makes them useless for the 24 X 48 inch openings they were purchased for. The plastic is so flimsy it is doubtful they would hang securely in a correctly sized opening. Avoid this product.
Sturdy and flexible
Would RecommendPerfect, exactly what I need

Breaks if you look at it
Would Not RecommendGot home and found corners cracked and other cracks and flaws. I handles with care. I bought similar many years ago and they were made of a softer plastic that was hard to break.
It’s worth paying more for a better quality one.
Would Not RecommendThese break really easily; most of the pieces on the shelf at Lowes were already cracked or broken. Then, as we were trying to install them, we realized they were about an inch too short and an inch too narrow. We couldn’t get them to stay in. So we had to return them.
