Brutal to Rinse Off

Add my review to those who offer a warning about the residue this cleaner leaves. I won't argue that it seemed to clean the grime that had formed on my deck, which is about 15 months old and yet-to-be stained/sealed. Be Careful!

First, I start by saying I love Olympic products. Perhaps my review would be different if I were cleaning an old deck. The results would likely be great. Unfortunately, I used it on my log sided home, and the results were disastrous. The instructions are quite vague when it comes to stained wood, with the typical escape clause to test on an inconspicuous area. Pressure washed a deck like the owner wanted. I was not satisfied with results so I suggested Olympic Deck Cleaner. Sprayed on rinsed off. Unbelievable difference. I wouldn't have had to waste time pressure washing if I had just used cleaner in the first place. Thanks Olympic-I would recommend this product before any project!

Worked good.

I used to clean a new deck,so I could then put sealer on it. Did a good job, I sprayed on with garden spray. Didn't go very far, had to go buy another gal. In some places it made the wood look a little fuzzy. But all looked ok after I sealed it.

Bad Result

I had constructed a new deck, waited the recommended 6 months before using Olimpic deck cleaner prior to first application of new stain. I applied the liquid cleaner, waited no more than the suggested 10 minutes and immediately power washed. The result was not at all what I suspected. My deck was covered with a white chalky or powdery residue and was extremely slippery. After allowing it to dry the residue was still very evident and the deck was very blotchy. amazing stuff

I have tried a number of different cleaners on my composite deck including pressure washing but nothing seemed to work well. This product is different. It worked very well with minimal scrubbing and a pressure wash. Our composite deck is nearly 10 years old and this is the first time it has looked fresh since we installed it. I completed the top surface of our 12'x14' deck in about 2 hours using just over 1 gallon of this product. The railing and edges will require purchasing a second gallon.

Same as Outdoor Bleach

I noticed that the ingredients are the same as outdoor bleach. I tried both products side by side and got same result. Both products worked well. I saved a few dollars by using the bleach.

Great Stuff!

Used the product on an 8' picnic table and a wooden swing. Directions say "no scrubbing necessary"...it's true. Just spray on, wait 10 minutes and hose off...this stuff works!

I followed the directions and applied direct to the wood decking and railings. I did it early in the morning- so, the sun and heat would not dry up the cleaner. rebuilding a large part of my deck on my house but decided to leave some of the structure and supports due to them being in fairly decent shape. I wanted to clean them though to try to get them to be a little closer to the new wood in terms of color (plus i will be staining soon too). I don't usually write a review unless the product is very poor, or exceptional. This product is exceptional. I have a 10 year old Trex deck. I have tried a number or cleaning products on the deck with very limited success and often much labor. Trex does not recommend power washing on the older Trex decking, so that option was out. If it sounds too good to be true! I followed the directions but it didn't clean the wood deck. They are refunding my money but lost 2 hours of labor. 50/50 bleach and a power washer is what it takes.

Great Deck Cleaner

Works great on Trex decking. No scrubbing work involved. Just apply and rinse off 10 minutes later. I've been using the product for years with great success!

I wish I would have read reviews first

Everyone told me to use a deck wash before I stained the deck, so I went with Olympic. At first it seemed great. The old mold and mildew came off with just spraying using a pump sprayer. I waited the 10-minutes it said to, and then began to rinse off the directions stated. As I started to rinse away the product it started to leave a white film. This stuff rocks!

This is a cedar privacy fence around our yard. We live in Arizona and this fence has been "beat up" by our rather harsh sun for years. It did have linseed oil on it years ago, which had dried up and soaked into the wood. Anyway, the darned thing was ugly. I thought your product would help, but, not fix the years of ugly and discoloration. Well, the proof is in the pictures! Great cleaner

Our decking is 3 years old and is stained. Within 3 winters it developed mildew stains as expected. Used this product as directed on our deck and it worked perfectly. It removed the mildew and stains. It did not hurt the deck staining. Very easy to spray on, I used a canister sprayer. No scrubbing. I highly recommend this product. Works as advertised.

Deck Cleaner

Apparently I have the same problem as others with this product....white residue after I left it on the recommended time that was on the bottle. Should have done my research. Now I get to sand the residue off before I can put the sealer on it. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT

Very unsatisfied

My deck is 6 months old and was in need of a good clean/stain. I was looking for something I could apply that would remove some minor grime/prep the deck for stain. I used this product because of a recommendation from the Olympic rep that was at Lowes.
