Product states it works on tile, hardwood floors, etc., and is not designed to work on top of carpets. Thought I would try it on top of carpet anyway. Verified it absolutely does not work on top of carpet. Reason for 3 stars is the backing tape splits much like old tape and requires constant attention and peeling away splits. Difficult to apply and get to lay flat on carpet. Used a roller to alleviate this issue, with only moderate success.

Would Not RecommendDid not work for me, Slides more now then it did before I put the tape on the rug. I used two different tapes on two separate runners, both on hardwood floors. Both failed miserably, although Scotch brand does seems to grip occasionally, maybe temperature has a factor ? Would not recommend from my experience, doesn't mean it may not work for others, just didn't for me.
