Ratings & Reviews for Minwax Wood Finish Color Series Oil-based Clear Tint Base Semi-transparent Tintable Interior Stain ( 1-quart )

One coat stain with great coverage!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stain spreads evenly and covers with one single coat. Easy to apply and great coverage. Stays true to the color of the stain. First coat dries fairly quickly. I do not recommend a second coat.

Excellent quality stain

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a high quality, easy to use stain. It applies smooth and covers well. I’m in the process of redoing a few pieces of furniture and this stain looks beautiful on the table top I’m finishing now. I stripped and sanded the piece, then applied the stain — it’s flawless. I love how even it applies and how nice the color is.

Easy to work with

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This wood finish is easy to work with and creates a smooth finish. I used the paint brush along with this woodstain from this sample combo, and the result was great! I wish there was another color I can choose to match the rest of the furniture style in my house

Easy to apply Wood Finish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this new wood stain from Minwax. Easy to stir up and apply. Super thick so I only need one coat. Not much of an odor at all. Excited to use this color stain on other projects.

Can't wait for the next project!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loved this walnut stain! Will be doing more projects with the wife but I've been wanting to upgrade one of my longboards. No strong smell, has lasted weeks already with heavy use. Easy to put on as I had my 3 year old do most of this project.

Great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Worked as expected. Very nice, rich, color. Can’t speak to the durability as of this point, however I can say it applied very well and dried nicely.

Great product !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great color and finish, such an easy application process! Only needed one good coat, was pretty strong scent, and the drying time was a little less than normal!

Quality stain, be aware of oil base vs water base application

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Minwax Amber stain is easy to use and provides nice coverage. My photos show a sample of Amber stain with one coat and two coats on the far right of the stick. It’s a very nice, warm color. It can be applied with a brush or a rag, and it can be re-coated after two hours. Oil based stain is definitely more durable than water based stain. You’ll need to keep in mind that the fumes are much more intense with oil based stain. Therefore, I wou...

Dried quick, went on easy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this stain! I used it to stain a wood slice. It soaked in and dried quickly. It was very easy to apply. The odor was not very noticeable. All in all a great stain! I received this free for my honest review from #influenster. Will purchase this in the future!

Good wood stained

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This leaves a pretty good and cool finish on wood. As a beginner this is pretty easy to use. I left it to dry for about a day and it was good. The odor is a little strong .

Stain on pine wood almost yellowish, but a good product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used the amber stain (one coat) on 2 woods, white oak and pine. The stain was easy to apply for both woods, and dried quickly. What we did next was apply one coat of polyurethane. The smell from the stain was almost non existent. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the pine almost had a yellowish tinge. The white oak looked great. Just test your woods before applying.

Good coverage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the stain before and so excited to try the New Minwax wood finish color Series premium oil based stain and it say its 5x thicker and you get good coverage.

Minwax ⭐️ Wood Finish Color Series

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The can is well packed to prevent leakage. Spreads nicely and evenly on the surface. Dry time is fast to normal. I react with headache with strong smell, but this one isn’t overwhelming to me. Very easy to apply. One coat is already good enough so it does more work compares to all the products with the same amount. The final looks smooth and professional for a newbie like me. Highly recommend.

Color rich stain

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall this is a very good product with a lot of positives and only one negative from my use. Easy to open and stir the product which makes prep work a lot easier. Very rich color when first opening the stain and that color followed through after application. Stain was a definitely on the thick side, almost a cross between a normal stain and paint which I did not love. Very normal dry time and no overwhelming odors which all are great pluses w...
