Easy to use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace a 30” Masterbuilt smoker I’d used for several years. The extra capacity is great when trying to smoke large racks of ribs and the stand makes a huge difference when trying to put items in or take items out. The cinch cord on the bottom of the cover keeps me from having to chase it around the neighborhood after a wind storm

Great Smoker for smaller spaces

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this almost a year ago and I have smoked almost everything from Wagyu beef brisket to Thanksgiving Turkey, I was never dissapointed in the end results of the smoke process with this smoker. Its easy to set up and easy to clean.

Really Small wood chip tray for a big smoker

So far I like the smoker. First thing I noticed is that they give you a really small wood chip tray. Seems like a 1/2 handful fits in it. My 30” smoker had 4 times the size to fill up. You have to fill it up more often. The heating coil is big on the 40” too. It makes no sense to me.

good jerky, but temp consistency isn’t great

so far it smokes venison fine but i have noticed it struggles to keep a consistent temp. it turns the heating element off as soon as it hits the target temp, but since the element still is hot it will go 5-10 over the target temp. then once it goes below target temp it takes a bit to heat the element causing it to go 5-10 degrees under temp. but the jerky ive made with it still tastes pretty good, just keep in mind that if you want a consistent temp through the entire cook process, this smoker w...

DONT BUY!! DONT BUY!! DONT BUY!!!

DONT BUY!!! Purchased this smoker almost a month ago. The second time using it, it cut off in the middle of smoking brisket. Googled what to do and it said unplug it and wait 5 mins. Did that nothing wouldn't come back on. Further reading said it could be the digital controller. So I unscrewed it from the smoker and went to unhook the wire and when I picked the box up it was full of water, from the moisture of the smoker. Also keep in mind that it has been covered up with the master built smoker...

I’ve had this product for less than a year, and I’ve had nothing but trouble with it. From the moment I got it, the door has not sealed well. Since then, I have also noticed that the paint used on it does not handle the heat, bubbling and flaking off around the door seal. Now the thermometer always reads over 285 even after turning the smoker on while cold. I have followed all troubleshooting recommendations to reset or clear that temperature and nothing will get the temperature to read less. Th...

Dont waste your money if you want to cure w/ this

I purchased this smoker on 11/24/25 at the Cabelas in Verdi (Reno) Nevada. It might work for ribs and chicken, but it's a boat anchor if you are trying to cure meats. The digital controller is 30-60 degrees off. To cure at 165 degrees, you have to use your own temperature probe. I have it set at 130, and it is at 172 degrees. To cure, you will need at least one probe until you can get an accurate reading. If you open the door, the temperature will spike, and you will not know the top-out until i...

Used to love masterbuilt

Bought two of these and after a couple months neither will work. One of them will not come on at all and the other one will come on but will jot heat up.

Great entry into the smoking arts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, I’ve been using my master built smoker for a couple of years now. After the first year I added the cold smoke generator to it and have smoked everything from pork shoulder to beef to bacon, and I even made chipotle peppers. The temperature control was not quite what I had hoped, but as long as I monitor it with a good thermometer, it cooks quite well.

After several years display started to deteriorate. And electrical started to fall ordered a new controller but still having issues

My second Masterbuilt electric chip smoker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased a 30" Masterbuilt electric chip smoker a couple of years ago and have used it more times than I can count. It has been very consistent with every cook and times and temperature are reliable. I hope to have it for years to come.
