Don’t tear the old tile out - use this product
This product was used as a primer over existing tile on a kitchen backsplash. Our contractor used EcoPrim Grip before setting glass tiles over the old. The finished job looks fantastic.

Bonding primer
Would RecommendThis product makes it possible to put new tile over old tile that’s in good shape. We wanted to change the shower floor but didn’t want to start from scratch and remove the old tiles. So a coat or 2 of this bonding primer and we were good to go. Only time will tell how well it worked. I used Mapei Ultra Flex 2 as my mortar.

After having a difficult time trying to remove just one tile with a jack hammer drill I did some research and thankfully find this product. I put three coats of this product on my existing tile floor and it created a rough cement-like surface to adhere new tile. This product does not come off like some reviewers mentioned.
