A Great Threshold!

Well built and very useful!

Impossible to remove the weather stripping as the instructions tell you to do. After multiple attempts with multiple tools, and damaging the weather stripping, I had to deconstruct the threshold to get the stripping off. Do not recommend

Threshold

I just had to replace an existing threshold and this one I got it was the exact same fit. Worked really good.

Good product poor installation instructions

Threshold was exactly what I needed. The only problem was the instillation. Instructions said to remove rubber weather strip by prying up from threshold. This seemed to be impossible without damaging the threshold or ruining the weather strip so it no longer went back evenly. This was to anchor the threshold to the concrete floor. I solved it by using adhesive to anchor the threshold

The vinyl does not remove easily (or at all without damage) from the aluminum. Therefore, if you plan on securing to subfloor with fasteners and not glueing, it will be an extremely difficult task. Also, it was not manufactured precisely such that the vinyl sill, wood piece, and aluminum piece were all out of alignment.

Beware of staples

The overall quality is on par with other products in the $20–$40 range (quality 3/5). However, there’s a major design flaw to be aware of: the plastic piece that’s supposed to slide off easily for drilling is actually stapled tightly to the wooden plank—three times! Removing it without specialized tools is extremely frustrating. It makes the installation unnecessarily difficult. Also, no screws are included, which might explain the slightly lower price compared to similar items.

Not worth the effort

This product looks nice however the black plastic piece is impossible to pry up. Making this not lock in place.

Thoughtless design

Step 1 to install is to remove the plastic seal. Fair enough, except the seal is installed in a pretty permanent way. Why is it stapled into the wood if I have to remove it?

Wrong description and hard install

description wrongly says screws are included. vinyl is also difficult to remove as it is stapled. instructions are bad.

Fit perfectly

Threshold was super easy to install even for a newbie like me. And you can’t even tell it it’s not the original threshold that was with the house. Cutting through it was a little challenging, using a hacksaw. And sadly after I replaced the whole piece, I figured out all I needed to do to fix my previous threshold was pop out the old vinyl plastic thing, and put a new one in which would’ve saved me a lot of time and effort.

That's enough

Virtually no instruction on proper installation of this product. Some sites have a video 'how to' that is extremely helpful. Only when you open the wrapping do you learn you need to get screws and concrete anchors for proper installation. Would be nice if this was shown on the packaging while still at the store.
