The old ones were made of aluminum and a large plastic piece underneath that provided rigidity and stability. This was the closest I could find in height, length, and depth, but underneath was a strip of wood, not plastic, so I’m concerned it will swell up when it gets wet, and it may also rot prematurely. Frustrating install
Would Not RecommendMaybe the one I bought was especially difficult, but there was no gentle prying that would budge the vinyl strip. Aluminum got pretty scuffed up and vinyl is fairly deformed now. It would be worth the extra money to buy a different product with an easier install.

The instructions say to "gently" pry. It cannot be done. I marked up the plastic and it didn't budge. I taped the wrapper back around it to return it, because I figured if I went Ninga on it and ruined the plastic it would be my fault and I could't return it. I went online and started reading reviews--apparently good, easy to install thresholds are few and far between these days--but I did find that MD has a customer service number.
