Not what I needed

Not what I needed....when I tried to return the item to Lowe’s they would not accept it. The package had NOT been opened. No I did not have the receipt but the item was in their inventory. When I agreed to a gift card, the ‘system’ would not allow it saying a receipt was required!

Finally found item in asle 18 on 13 as stated. Could have had it installed in the amount of time wasted trying to find it.

Not Designed With Installation In Mind

As others have written, the plastic cap is stapled to the wood and crimped into the aluminum. You need to remove the plastic in order to screw the wood down to the floor. I came to the reviews to find suggestions. The two options I see are 1) glue it down 2) pry the plastic out and screw it down. I decided to go with option 2 and pull the three staples out, then slide the plastic cap off sideways. Screw the threshold down through the wood. Strong and sturdy

I needed to replace the Threshold on garage entry door as the frame had rotted and had allowed the threshold to fall off. The new one fit perfectly and I was able to fasten it in place. Nice product.

Threshold fit first time

Great product. Removed the old threshold and installed this threshold without difficulty.

Just because a company can bend aluminum....

...does not qualify them to make thresholds. As many others have stated, poor instructions, and those are visible only when package is opened. Even though Lowe's description says mounting hdwr is included, it is not. Several reviewers indicated they were replacing a threshold due to a rotting wood base. My reason was the same, as water was seeping under the existing. However, those folks should expect to need to replace this threshold in short order for the same reason - the wood used on bottom ...

M-D Threshold

The threshold was too thick, the next smallest too thin. It did not come with mounting hardware or instructions on where to drill holes or what type of hardware to use.

Good Replacement for a Worn Out Threshold

This is a good replacement for a worn out threshold. I was able to easily replace the old threshold with this new one.

My only problem with this item is that it calls for special fasteners (not included) to install and you don't know this till you read instructions and I live 25 miles from Lowes. I'm not going 50 miles (round trip) to get special fasteners. Either include them or use large print to say they are needed, so a person can buy them in the same trip. I used three 2 1/2" screws.
