Horrible scrud generating washing machine

I bought this washer in 2019. It has become the bane of my existence. In 2021 I had to have a repair tech remove the inner drum and clean it because no amount of tub clean cycles with any washer cleaning products will fully get rid of the scrud. Then again, in 2024, I had the inner drum replaced with a brand new one in case mine had some sort of design flaw causing the scrud to continue building up. I hoped that would fix it. Nope. A washer that makes your clothes dirtier

I wrote a report earlier and here is more proof. I took these shorts out of the washer. They were dirtier than when they went in. I decided to hand wash them. Look at this filth. You’d actually be better leaving them in a rain storm. They would be cleaner

Would not buy again

This washer sucks. The “smart” features suck, it can barely do a load of laundry without getting an IE error for no reason at all.

dirt buildup issue

Worst in terms of dirt buildup issue. regret buying this LG top-load washer. No matter how often I clean it, this machine constantly builds up dirt and grime inside the drum and around the holes. That dirt ends up coming back out onto my clothes during the rinse or spin cycle. It’s disgusting. I ran the tub-clean cycle regularly, cleaned the drum manually, wiped down every part I could reach, used the right amount of detergent — you name it, I tried it. Do not buy this!!!

This is the worst machine I have ever purchased did not last more then two years and Lowe’s customer service was not help at all. I had a dryer before this one that lasted 24 years what a waste of money!!

Can’t even wash a king sized sheet set!

Despite the large capacity tub this washer will not wash a set of king sized sheets without issues. And more than 1 pair of jeans-forget it! Why have a large tub but washer cannot handle a large load.

Do not recommend

The absolute worst washing machine that I have ever owned. My clothes should not come out of the washing machine dirtier than when they go in. I am now running the tub clean cycle twice per week. Halfway through the tub clean cycle when the water level is high I take a strainer that I bought specifically for this purpose because it is so disgusting and strain out the chunks of brown stuff...not sure how else to describe it but it is disgusting. Low water levels- don’t recommend

This washing machine has been a huge disappointment. With every load, we have to use the “Water Plus” mode, otherwise half of the clothing doesn’t even get wet. It doesn’t really wash, would definitely go back to one with an agitator.

Impeller broke/ bolt to remove won’t budge

I’ve had my direct drive lg turbo balance for 6 years. It stopped moving the wash. Found it was the impeller…easy fix, but the bolt would not come out to replace it. Tried everything…heat, pb buster… Had to replace the whole washer bc a service call/repair would now cost more than half of a new one, maybe as much…it looks brand new and is totally taken care of. Makes me sick to have to buy a new washer with what we paid for this one…

Love this washer

This replaced our Whirlpool Washer that only lasted a week after delivery this thing tells us when its time to clean the washer, not to mention it has lasted longer than the Whirlpool Dryer we got as well definitely recommend this washer!

Mold Flakes

Cannot keep this washer from getting mold flakes. Pulled the agitator and drum and pressure washed the drum, cleaned the tun. The agitator design is a 2 piece that essentially traps moisture between the 2 pieces and molds. Virtually uncleanable is I bought a new agitator. Was told to not use fabric softener. Less than a year and washer is covered in mold flakes again. This is ridiculous. Washer has a major design flaw
