Would Not RecommendYes, least expensive 8lb sledge out there. Fiberglass handle should be strong enough. The problem is that the critical transition coupling from handle to head appears to be only plastic. Was this an intentional design to keep the cost low or something that the Chinese manufacturer did to keep his cost low? Either way, this 8lb, long handle Kobalt sledge hammer will not take hard use. Maybe fine for light work.

Would RecommendUsed it to break up and remove a concrete pad - it is super sturdy, nice grip and really cool sledge. Broke up the concrete no problem and it’s fun to swing it around.
