There ARE differences in tape measures
Would RecommendI think like most people, I went through most of my life not thinking about these devices, unless, or course, I needed to measure something. Then I would just grab whatever one was around, use it and be done. However, after shifting career paths recently and finding myself doing a lot of general contracting/building furniture type work I decided it was time to upgrade my tape measure. Good 4 the money
It's ok for the money. Not as stiff as the better ones to hold up for longer lengths, but it gets the job done. The locking mechanism is easy, but a little cheap feeling.

Easy to read, easy to operate
Would RecommendTape is easy to read, vibrant colors. The retractor mechanism is strong and easy to operate. This model is nice because you can lock out on the extension automatically and retract by depressing the button. Case feels solid like it would survive a drop from a higher ladder.

Really great tape measure
Would RecommendIt was just what i was looking for. I was actually looking for a particular tape measure that I was using at work from another brand that had the auto-locking feature on it, but I could not find it in any store. Then I saw the Kobalt auto-locking model. This one is even better to my surprise. It has a light lock, so when you pull it out it stays out and won't retract until you press the lever to release it. There's no need to apply pressure to a button to keep it out or to hold your finger on it...

reel in time is fast
Would RecommendLove it but is a little different to others so have to get use to it. The reel in should slow down once it is ine or two inches from complety reeled in. slams hard and over time it will not measure correctly
