Ratings & Reviews for Kobalt 232 -Piece Metric and standard (SAE) Mechanics Tool Set with Hard Case

Great Tool - Not Great Customer Service

Tool Set seems well built and has many relevant pieces. Like the ratchets and much better than what I thought they would be. Like the case too, though a bit flimsy, but will do for what I need. I would have provided a 5 Star, but there was one socket missing. After notifying customer service and indicating what piece was missing - radio silence, no email response, nothing even after several follow up emails.. Very disappointed in customer service thus far and hopefully will hear back from th...

Nice

Lots of tools to meet many needs. Some assembly required. Because it is made of plastic, drawers are not smooth to open. Another thing which you do not take into consideration, it is quite heavy to lug around.

Wow what a great set

These are great quality and love the case, the case would not work well for everyday use but great for around the house. Way more then you would ever need, I would suggest getting a swivel extension. Price can’t be beat at $99

232 Piece Mechanics Tool Set

I had no problem with the case, it works just fine. The tools are used for my barn so I don't have to keep running to my workshop for a socket. All the tools have held up with no problems. It also makes it easier by taking the box to where I'm working and having the tools right where I need them. The sockets are marked with a red and blue stripe to help speed up in selection of the right socket. If I could go back in time I would purchase the tool set over again and I would recommend this t...

I bought it for a gift for my son-in-law I am thinking he will be very very happy with it for Christmas thank you

Decent Tools Horrible Case

Bought this toolset and case was completely destroyed exchanged it for another set case was functional on the second set but had duplicate sockets and missing others. Local store wanted to return the entire set instead of exchanging the incorrect sockets

Very Nice Kobalt Tool Set

I am very impressed with this set. I already had all the tools but being packaged in an easily portable box made getting it worth while. Having it on sale is even better. Have recommended to several of my friends.

Kobalt 232-Piece Standard (SAE) and Metric

Good price and quality. Like the drawers and color. On surface looks like expensive set. this set tool is good for life time.

Compact Design

I bought this set to keep in my truck for roadside emergencies/repairs. I like the variety of tools it comes with as well as the bottom drawer being empty so I can add other tools or supplies I want to carry with me. The only thing I do not like is the plastic drawers can be difficult to slide in and out.

Good tool set but box difficult to use

While the tools seem useful, you almost need another set of tools to open the box and drawers to get to them. Seems that more work could be done on the box itself to improve fit, finish and tolerances.

Great for a new driver

We bought this exact kit a few years ago for our oldest son’s first car. He had a Jeep so I knew he’d need tools! Lol so when our youngest son got his first car (another Jeep) I knew right away what he needed too! This set of tools has just about everything you’d need if your car broke down somewhere, we did purchase some pliers and electrical tools to go with it, but it’s a nice set. I liked the storage tool box as well, helps young drivers stay organized in their cars. I absolutely recommend...

Best By Far

Kobalt 232-Piece Standard (SAE) and Metric Combination Polished Chrome Mechanics Tool Set is the best value for your money. This is a high quality set that I would compare with some of the most expensive sockets sets on the market. First, the storage case itself is great with a sturdy hinged top with storage in the lid and organized areas for hex keys, wrenches, nut drivers, etc. Two of the similar Craftsman sets that I looked had already had their plastic cases broken/chipped in the store! The ...

Great price for the tools but....

Black Friday price is a great price for this tool kit so I bought one. The correct number of tools were included however I have about 15 thin combo wrenches that have no home and I have four empty spaces for the thin wrenches that it didn't come with. Called Lowes and they said to bring it back and they'll take a look. I've never been a fan of this type of plastic storage however everything seemed to fit correctly. I'll be surprised if the tools still fit snuggly after a removing them a few...

One Socket Was A Duplicate

The set is great, especially at the half price that I got it. One socket was a duplicate which was a pain to have to return to Lowes to correct, (hence 4 stars vs 5). Lowes corrected the issue promptly and I couldn’t be happier.

Case is junk

So first off the tools seem great, lots of tools for the price. The bad is the sockets come out of place to easily. I got it home, put all the tools in their place. Tipped case to side and you could hear tons of sockets going all over. Now i cannot open top drawer. Too much hassle in my opinion

Just purchased

I just purchased this as a gift. My husband likes the products. My only complaint is I wish they had somewhere to place a lock. Overall this is a great set for the price and would recommend.

tool set

Total set came as expected.from all appearances looks good. Just received so no issues to date.

Good quality, weird assortment.

I do not recommend this item, not because it’s bad but simply there is no choice to select, “Maybe.” The set of sockets is VERY complete…a bit too complete in my opinion. How many times will you need a full set of 6 points and 12 points sockets? This being said, yes there are times when it will be great to have them. Having a full set of metric and SAE sockets though is great. Though I haven’t used those for very long I can tell they are good quality and will probably last a very long time. ...
