Ratings & Reviews for Kobalt 229 -Piece Standard (SAE) and Metric Mechanics Tool Set with Hard Case
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the comprehensive tool selection, highlighting SAE and metric sockets, color-coded markings, and solid chrome-plated construction with a crisp, reliable ratchet. Most find it an excellent value for DIY and automotive work. However, a dominant complaint centers on the toolbox design—drawers slide uncontrollably, fail to support weight, and the case frequently falls apart or breaks upon unboxing. Many explicitly state the tools are excellent but the storage case is severely flawed. A few note missing extensions or marking wear, though these concerns pale against widespread toolbox dissatisfaction. Overall, reviewers recommend the tools despite the problematic case.

I was scammed.
Would Not RecommendI bought 4 of these and paid $87.79, I have messages where supposedly this was picked up by a driver and was on the way to me, after a few minutes you started a return without me authorizing it and also made a refund of only $84.80, something strange happens in your warehouses and those of us who lose money are the customers, I need a clear answer!
Excellent Little Mechanics Tool Set
Would RecommendThis is an excellent little mechanics tool set at a great price. The tools are well-made, and they come in their own case that looks like it will hold up for a long time. It is nice to buy a set without the "extra" filler tools to make the set sound better... The compact size makes it easy for me to toss it into the truck's under-seat storage. (I bought two and will be adding the other to our second vehicle.)
