What Customers Are Saying

Most customers praise these bits for reliable performance and value, noting they drill cleanly through wood, aluminum, and composites with sharp, consistent results. Many highlight hex shank compatibility and suitability for pilot holes and routine tasks. However, a substantial group reports unexpected breakage, particularly when drilling hardwood, aluminum angle iron, or Hardie board, describing the bits as brittle and unsuitable for impact drills. A few mention length or price concerns. Overall, reviewers find them dependable for standard applications despite durability inconsistencies under demanding conditions.

Sanpped from few uses on simple cabinets wood. Plus it's not straight, the bit is crooked. I would like to get a refund. I'm never buying anything Kobalt again.

"Cute" idea, but not so good.

I bought these to make the holes on soft, non-precious stones (for a bracelet that broke) more uniform. (That manufacturer has major Quality Control issues.) One bit worked on several stones, then stopped on another stone. The second bit didn't work either. -- And... I can't resharpen them in my "Drill Doctor," because of the "adapter" thingey swaged on the shank of the bits. -- The Drill Bit manufacturer WASTED the extra metal for the adapters.

Maybe I was using it too hard or it didn't quite fit the different drills I used; but I was getting the same issue where the part in the drill (silver/grey portion) would spin with the drill but the actual bit would not spin/drill.

Drill bit

Kobalt brand drill bits are great for drilling into metal.

After trying other brands of drill bits, and finding out that don't drill into metal very well, I discovered that the Kobalt brand works best for metal drilling.
