Installation is a pain, but it is worth it!

I have this light over my dining room table. I have had it now for 2 years. I still have original light bulbs, too. I have never tried it with different light bulbs. That would definitely make it more brighter, but it might also take away from the ambiance the light provides. It has a great, rustic look to it. The lights are dim, but it is just enough light. Dim Lighting & hangs uneven but great rustic look

I bought almost the entire Barrington family of fixtures when we remodeled. This was the most expensive of the Barrington family and we bought it for our dining room. I am disappointed in the fact that it does not hang square and even. Looks great, great customer service

Purchased this light for over our kitchen table. Our box was missing instructions so I had to download them which was frustrating and it was also missing a small part inside one of the glass globes when we installed it (or we mistakenly threw it away, we aren't sure.) Either way, when I called for the replacement part customer service was great. Love the look, but glass is a dirt magnet!

I love this light fixture above our distressed kitchen table, however the glass gets very cloudy very quickly. There must be something about that type of glass? They wash up quickly and easily, but I have to do it about once a month. I'm sure no one else notices really, but I am always amazed at the before and after!

beauftiful lamp - nightmare to install

Once installed it looks beautiful. but we had lots of issues with installation and took long time. 1. the plate that connects to ceiling is made for squire box. We had circular box in the ceiling this caused space problems and as a result finish plate will not install as screws did have room ( they were hitting the electrical box walls) to tighten. Took us long time to figure out plan and cut into drywall so that finish plate screws had room to go up. 2. even cheapest lamp provide screw on ch...

Tricky?

I have been looking at this light for months and finally my husband bought it for me. I think it must have been a well wrapped return because of certain pieces being already put together and the wiring ends already frayed. Nevertheless the pieces were there and nothing was broken. BUT.. This was the worst thing Ive ever assembled and I think that may have been why it was returned. Normally a light kit takes me 30-45 mins. THIS thing though. Great light and looks good too

It was relatively easy to setup. The finished installed product gave an instant boost to our home's decor and made the house feel much more modern. I can't stop looking at our newly installed lights. I just love this entire series of lights.

Great look, a little dim, sloped mount tricky

A GREAT look for our dining room. As noted in several other reviews the supplied bulbs are quite dim and the fixture does cast shadows. The installation manual does not discuss anything specific to a sloped ceiling mount. There may be enough 'play' in the threaded rods which extend from the top of the fixture to allow for correction. You can spend $50 on a chandelier, you can spend $2K on a chandelier. Trying to decide where you find "value" in a purchase like this isn't easy. After having this chandelier up for a couple of weeks, I feel that it is priced right, and with the quality of materials and stunning looks, I feel it was a great purchase. This light does not light up the table, there is a large shadow which makes it difficult to play games etc. But looks great. Definitely low light.

Looks great, but too dim

I wish I had read the reviews and realized how dim this light would be. I also should have realized that three, 60W light bulbs were never going to really light a room adequately. My solution has been to order low wattage LED bulbs - they make them in Edison style now! - and swap them out for the bulbs that came included. Aesthetically, this is a beautiful light fixture.

Great light for the price!

This light goes perfect with our decor and I love it. Like others have said, as long as this isn't your primary source of light it's fine. It's just a bit dark if so. I didn't give it 5 stars because the entire peace wasn't exactly straight. We kind of had to straighten it out ourselves so that it would hang evenly. The box was in perfect condition, it looks like it was made that way.

Great looking light!

My wife loves this light; it looks great in our room and has received many compliments. I would make sure this is not your primary source of light if you use your space for more than eating, as the lights are a little dim, but it offers a romantic atmosphere for eating. We have it hooked up to a dimmer switch and it works great. See the pictures for it on by itself and then with other lights on. The light is a little pricey ($299), but we love it.

stylish, looks better in person but very dim light

Beautifully matches our decor and is simply lovely. It took a bit longer to assemble than we expected due to the spacer and cover parts around the light bulbs, but not a big deal. What could be a big deal for someone is the low volume of light. We were prepared after readng the box and doing the math on the wattage and lumens and decided it was worth it to have such a beautiful fixture. However, don't use this as your only light source if you plan to read, play games, craft, etc under it.

I've been searching literally 1yr for the perfect dining room fixture as I have a Spanish style theme. It was love at 1st site. Brought it home and it was very sturdy and my family loved it. Just wished it wasn't as expensive($300) But as my mother says (if you love something that much it must be purchased) so I did. It can hang long as links are included or without as I did because my ceiling isn't as high.
