What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the framing square for its bright orange color and easy-to-read black markings, with many noting superior visibility compared to duller alternatives. Reviewers consistently highlight durability and value for money, calling it a solid starter tool. However, many report a critical flaw: the large manufacturer sticker permanently damages measurement markings when removed, rendering the tool unusable. Despite this significant issue, most customers who avoid sticker removal find the square reliable and accurate for everyday marking and cutting tasks.

Thought I’d like the high visibility of the framing square. The company put a product sticker on it that takes an act of congress to remove. Once you manage to remove the sticker which is like 8 inches long and another birthday rolls around, it takes with it the important markings printed on the side in some cheap paint that wears off in one use. 35 year veteran roof framing carpenter, this is junk….

Strong, bright orange, love it!
Would RecommendLarge bright square to make sure things are at 90 degree angle. Loved the Orange Color so can’t lose it. Very sturdy, durable steel.

Cannot recommend
Would Not RecommendI’m sure it’s a great product if I could see the numbers and scales but for some reason the manufacturer decided is was a good idea to cover half the tool with a sticker that wouldn’t come off even with a hear gun and goo gone. I had to literally scrape the sticker off which took a bunch of the actual markings off.

Man, I love this thing
Would RecommendI couldn’t figure out what it was called at first so I googled it. Super easy to find in Lowe’s, you know the app is great for finding stuff.

Printing peels off with sticker
Would Not RecommendYes, the sticker is difficult to remove, but more importantly, it reveals how poor the printing quality is. I won't be keeping this square. If I did, the numbers would surely wear away quickly with regular use. I'm actually glad the sticker made me aware of this while I can still return it. It's unfortunate because I do like the orange color.
Where Have You Been All My Life, Framing Square?
This is something I should have purchased decades ago. I doubt I will use it much for framing but it certainly is handy when one needs a larger square for various projects. We used it for measuring, marking and cutting foam garage door insulation panels. It worked both as a square for marking and drawing cut lines but it also worked as a guide for using a case cutter to cut Styrofoam. The orange color is a plus. It does not disappear in the clutter of a project.

Rejoice: Sticker problem solved
Would RecommendI wasn't going to buy this level after seeing all the reviews and pictures of the sticker issue but I peeled a little bit of the corner in the store and that convinced me to try it. Looks like Johnson has heard you and changed the glue, sticker comes of super easy and in one piece now.
