Ratings & Reviews for IRWIN Speedbor 10 -Piece Assorted x Assorted Woodboring Spade bit Drill Bit Set

What Customers Are Saying
The Irwin Speedbor Spade Bit Set is praised for its sharp, durable, and effective bits that drill clean holes in wood. However, the included storage case is widely criticized as being too small to properly accommodate all the bits, especially the larger diameter ones. Many customers report having to modify the case or find creative ways to fit the bits inside, with some considering the case essentially useless. Despite the issues with the case, the product is still recommended for the quality of the bits and the variety of sizes, as well as the inclusion of a useful extension.
Customer review summary generated by AI, including incentivized reviews. The bits are great but they don't fit in the case.
Would RecommendThe bits work great, as Irwin always makes quality tools. But the case is too short for the bits. I had to cut out the dividers with a razor knife to get them to fit.
Nice bits, bad case
Would RecommendI haven’t used all, but I was impressed with what I have used. Unfortunately, the case is clearly an afterthought and doesn’t even fit the largest bit. Even fitting the rest is a challenge. Too bad since the case sold me on this specific set since.

Case is a JOKE
Would Not RecommendWhat kind of moronic engineer designed this? Should be FIRED!!!

Big Selection
The set offers the "in-between sizes" that are hard to find.

Bits too long for the case!
Would Not RecommendI've had to do research to find out how these bits are supposed to fit in the case. There's nothing printed in the package. Irwin's website has instructions, but even those are bad. They give you instructions on which bits to place on which side of the case, but they're all about 1/8" too long, so they don't lay flat. It's terrible design. I returned mine. I can't believe that Irwin would produce a case for a product that simply won't fit in the box.

Bits are a dud
Used the 1" spade bit on one(1) 2x4 when it became ineffective and could not be used again. Additionally, the package contaied a case that the purchaser would have assumed would be able to house the 10 bits, but that proved incorrect since it was too small for the bits over 3/4 diameter in width.

Bits Don't Fit in Case
Would Not RecommendBits are good. The extension is fine. I thought the case would be convenient, but you can't fit all the bits in it...

ridiculous Case
drills holes. nothing extraordinary. The case is ridiculous and can't hold bits because of flawed logic. I had to remove the four blue fins with a utility knife.
