What Customers Are Saying

The product is generally well-made and useful for extending the reach of drill bits, with a sturdy construction and balanced design. However, some customers reported issues with the set screws, which can split or round out, making the bit difficult to remove. Additionally, the extension may not be suitable for use in a drill press due to safety concerns. Overall, the product's performance is satisfactory for most users, but the set screw problems are a notable drawback.

You do not need a 12 inch bit extension often, but when you do -- this is the one you want in your tool box.

Works to design intent. The receiver end should have slighter smaller to provide a tighter fit but overall works good.

Worked well for high torque auger bits

Would Recommend

I had to drill a 1" hole down in a wall over 5 feet down. I have a 4 foot long auger bit and this extension worked perfectly. I was concerned that the two little set screws on the extension wouldn't be able to hold the bit because it requires a lot more torque than a regular bit. The bit takes so much force to turn that most homeowner quality drills can't turn it. Another thing I was concerned about was that the extension might let go and I would lose the bit. Fortunately, the extension worked p...

Put 3 end to end, and Drilled my Hole!

Would Recommend

Bought 3 of these and put them end to end. Was able to drill a hole in a surface that was 29 inches from the drill, with 4 inches of clearance on the front & back. Its behind an aquarium tank, which cannot readily be moved. Cut the hole very well!

Indespensable.

I've lost more than one paddle bit with other extensions. The two screws lock it in so I don't have to worry about ever loosing another drill bit in the wall.

I agree with the 1st review. Looks like a very well made product other than the set screws. I had the same issue with one of the set screws splitting. I am able to use the tool but i can not remove the spit set screw to get my wire wheel out of it now.

I purchased five 12" extensions so I could use up to 5 feet. In the process of putting them together one set screw, of the two on the extension, split when tightening using the short allen wrench with the unit. Now it is not possible to remove the set screw. It appears that the screws are not made from hardened steel. At first look after one split I thought they were plastic. In my 58 years I have had set screws round out or round over an allen wrench but never had one split. The extensi...
