Irwin Quick Connect Drill Bit Extension

Just what I needed to drill through foundation plate for outside electric box.

Great product!

I was able to connect these high quality extensions together and create a longer rod to drill as deep as I needed to. The fact that they connect and disconnect with an Allen screw means that they are portable, and handy :)

Just what you need!

This bit extension is solidly made, as a fitted resceptical for bits that are not round ended. This makes the connection solid and prevents slipping and wobble when drilling long lengths.

Did the job

I liked that I could tighten the hex screw to the drill bit to secure it

Great bit

Needed it to get a wood paddle bit deep into an old tree stump to apply stump removal chemical. Worked great gave me the extra reach.

Total Junk

Rusted within just a few weeks and the bits won't stay in if you are drilling into anything more substantial than balsa wood. At least now I know to avoid IRWIN junk in the future.

Unknown collar size

I wish the packaging detailed the shaft collar size. I needed to bore a 1/2" hole through several boards and this extension would not pass through the 1/2" hole because the collar was too large.

More than met my expectations

I used this to extend a 1-1/8" spade bit to double the depth of the bit. I'm glad I chose this over the quick connect type. The two set screws held the bit firmly as I was running it on an impact driver. It allowed me to drill one hole at over 6" deep and another at almost 10"deep in a pressure treated 4X4. Worked perfectly.

Excellent Drill Extension

I bought this to extend my reach on a 3/4" wood drill. Works likes a champ!!! It also allows you to see the angle at which you are drilling easier.

the 1/4 inch hex Quick connect is unreliable.

This 1/4 inch Quick connect becomes loose damaging the drill bit attached to it, the Quick connect extension and, the job itself no matter how much I tighten the screws to the extension. Much better off purchasing the correct drill bit for the job. I returned this 1/4-in Hex Quick Connect drill extension to Lowes. After a bit of a hassle I was able to get my refund.

Drill Bit Extension

I needed to purchase a new longer extension as the top part of another name brand snapped off when I tried to use it in a drill press.. I do not think that the 6 inch or any of them might be safely used in a drill press. They are ok in a hand held electric drill.
