What Customers Are Saying
The Irwin drill bit extension is a well-made and versatile tool that helps extend the reach of drill bits. Many customers found it to be sturdy, balanced, and able to securely hold bits in place, even when drilling through tough materials. The extension's locking mechanism was praised for preventing bits from getting lost or dropping out during use. It works best for drilling holes that require extra depth or reach, such as in walls or other hard-to-access areas. However, some customers reported issues with the extension not fitting their specific drill bits or applications.

Would RecommendThis extension works well for a couple of reasons. 1st, it attaches with two hex set screws that work well compared to the usual clip on type. 2nd, there is a bevel on back, or closest to the drill, if you are drilling a deep hole and allows for easier backing out the extension. I drilled an 8' hole through a log wall and would not have been able to do that if not for multiple of these extensions. You will have to drill at least a 3/4" hole with this extension for it to work unelss you just need...

Great for extendeing length of bit.
Would RecommendEasy to use. Needed to extend a bit by 3ft to reach the wall in an overhang. Put 3 of these bad boys together plus the bit. Made easy work cutting a guide hole to get access to from the other side.

Needs thread locker.
Would RecommendIt worked well but the set screws frequently worked their way out (to be lost) and had to be replaced. Thread locker helped.
